So sick since switched to Valium

I know everyone might feel that Valium is the best choice of drug to switch over to and taper off of. But switched from klonopin 1mg 3xs a day to the equivalent of 60mg Valium 3xs a day. And tapering 5mg ever two weeks. But ever since I got to the end of 50mg and started on 45mg, its like I hit a wall in my car going 100mpg.  I have been so weak, tired, fatigued and all I want to do is rest cause its like I have no energy to even motivate myself to do simple basic chores or even take a shower. Its like I feel like I have a bad case of the flu for almost over 2 weeks now even though my doctor up'd my dose to 47mg.

Maybe there are some people like myself and a few others I spoke with on this site that the same is happening to them with the Valium, whom might just not be able to tolerate Valium. I dont know.

I do know this. I wake up feeling really good because I take the Valium at night and it helps me sleep. But as soon as I take my morning dose, I am like a weak zombie and feel like I am sick as hell to the point I am at a debilitating state that I cannot function at all.

In my experience Valium totally sucks!!!! I should have never switched. I have been non functional since I switched in May. We are not alone in our experience, I've read many posts where folks regret switching to Valium.

I stayed on klonopin as i had a very bad experience early on trying to cross to valium, my doctor told me to stop taking klonopin and just replace it with valium, I won't go into detail but it was not nice and scared me off of valium.

Reading this board though it seems some people have good results crossing and some don't, it is the preferred method when it comes to Ashton though.

It was the worst thing I could have possibly done. Because I'd heard the word Ashton so much I thought it was the only way. I was actually doing so well just dry cutting my Klonopin. Valium is one of the worst drugs I've ever taken. Good for some...not for all. But, I'll forge ahead anyway. No other choice because I can't turn back now. 😒 B

Heather... This is me but it is from kolonopin.... I am kindled if you look at my signature.... I waited too long to reinstate.....I feel so much better if I feel like its getting closer to wearing off...

I am very frightened as I feel it is toxic to me but I can't seem to reduce quick enough because of the sxs left over from my ativan withdrawal.....

Ativan left me in a horrific state that continually became debilitating after 10 months of rapid cold turkey...

I feel like my body is screaming to get this drug out...

I don't know what to do

I'm sorry for everyone's pain....

I was put in 5mg valium upped it to 7.5 and now tapered down to 3mg...the WHOLE time until till now I felt fatigued and very very weak. I will say the fatigue is starting to finally lift but valium is a nasty benzo so is klon, long acting benzos suck but at least they dont have interdose w/d. Klon is terrible, I have been on it in the past. Valium cuts are bad but not as bad as directly tapering klon. The fatigue will go away as you taper.

Could you tell me what you thought was worse about tapering the Klon? Just curious... Thank you....

I see all you fellow Valium sufferers and often wonder could I switch?  I don't think my body will allow it..

Klon gave me way more anxiety and insomnia, plus more mental symptoms. Valium gives me more physical.

Valium produced endless and horrendous emotional and psychological symptoms for me, FWIW.

Thank you all so much for responding.... I can relate very well.... I'm crying yet again because I know this pain.... Severe physical and emotional and mental.....

I humbly love and appreciate all of you very much......

I have a very similar reaction to the valium. An hour or so after the morning dose I get a combo of fatigue, lethargy, anxiety and depression. If I had known it would be like this I wouldn't have crossed from xanax, and I would have tapered directly from the xanax. The only good thing about valium is that I absolutely can't wait for this crap to be completely out of my system.  It just sucks the life out of me, and it doesn't seem to cover the anxiety.

Did a partial c/o to valium while tapering off k and I think it was a big mistake !!!! Now stuck tapering v and not having fun to say the least ! It`s a totally different benzo then k ,longer half life ? maybe blood level wise but I feel it wear off in 2-3 hours ! Could kick my self in my ass but to late now !!!!

I wonder if it is too late.  Sometimes I'm almost tempted to go back to the Ativan and try to get off but that would probably backfire too.  I have mostly physical symptoms andd a lot of them.  In agony most of the time.  I have managed to taper from 20 mg to 13 but its been slow and agony.  Burning started first and now I can't eat, muscles are starting to tighten and bunch of other stuff.  So so sorry I did this now..  I guess we are all in this together.

I hear ya can do. I'd give anything to go back. I'd never touch Valium again but yes we're stuck. The depression, fatigue, weakness and burning are becoming unbearable. I was fine dry cutting the K. And it may have a long half life but you're right. The duration of it is much shorter for me than K. I need to dose 4X a day but contemplating 5X. Smaller doses to avoid the fatigue meltdown and maybe less interdose withdrawal. I'm at my wits end with it. But what can we do? Nothing except try to get off it. I'm trying .5 cuts every 5 days. I'm not sure it will last but others have done even more. So who knows? Benzo girl calls it a dirty drug. I get exactly what she means now. B

I understand people differentiating between different benzos but in the end they all do bad things to us so I lump them all in the shit pile together.
