[Ma...]
I'm sorry for posting a couple of times today, I'm just really struggling. I took my 5mg valium for tapering after a two day CT attempt and I just feel worse. Drowsy and wobbly. When I take it consistently for a couple of weeks will I feel better? In my head I'm thinking to rapid taper and rip the bandaid off because the pill doesn't even really work any more - just side effects. I've never been a consistent user of valium, just PRN for anxiety. I suppose I'm just after positive thoughts and reassurance. Thanks
[...]
Going back up to 5mg a day was probably a good move as you probably made too large of a cut. You should defiantly feel better each day that passes. Everyone is different so I can't say how many days it will take but you will stabilize. Probably 3-14 days. You are on a small dose so your cuts need to be small as well. Try micro tapering using a .001 gram scale or liquid. I have not used liquid "yet" but daily dry micro is working great for me. When I was doing cut and hold I had many symptoms and could barely leave the house. Now I do everything I was doing before but at about 70% of normal. Vacation with family and socialize with many people, 20 mile bicycle rides, golf in 90 deg heat, loud concerts with people all around me with no problem. When you are ready to start your taper again try this. Weigh about 10 pills and take the average weight. Probably .170 gram (.170 gram weight =5mg v dose). Take 1 pill and lightly scrape off .001 gram each day and save the powder you scraped off (you can use later). The pill should weigh .169 gram on the first cut day then next day .168g,.167g ect...This will reduce your mg dose 12.5% in 20 days (.625mg v). This puts you in the recommended 5-10% every 1-2 week cut range and it should reduce your symptoms as it has for me. If this is still too hard you can cut .001gram every 2 days. If this method works for you then you will either have to change to 2mg v pills for more accuracy or dissolve the pills to liquid and use that method. Hope this helped. [Di...]
5mg after a 2-day c/t might take a few days to catch up with you. If it were me, I'd stay put at the 5mg, until you feel better, and then resume tapering.
[Ma...]
Thanks BDJA and Disney Girl, that advice does help thank you. BDJA I like that idea, I have never encountered it before but I can do it. I have a micro scale somewhere in the cupboard the has a uncertainty of +/-0.001 mg I believe. Cheers. Disney girl I'll definitely stay on 5mg for a few days before tapering, thank you
