Guest [Ru...]
I used Xanax recreationally and to induce sleep for a little under a month. My average dosage was probably around 2-4mg. This was not perfectly consistent as there was days where I would not take any but for the most part it was daily. I ran out around August 2nd of this year and had a seizure which landed me in the hospital. I was not aware that abrupt cessation of benzos caused this, I was also not ready for the debilitating withdrawal. Derealization, anxiety, numbness, a tingling sensation in my face and head... It was awful. I'm 3 weeks clean from them now and feel much better. I still have a foggy feeling and the slightest dizzy/numb/tingling feeling in my head and face. I just wanted somewhat of an estimate of the remaining time I have to experience this given my seemingly short abuse of alprazolam. Thank you for your time in advance! [be...]
Unfortunately there is no crystal ball the can predict what symptoms one will have, their severity or how long they will last. From what I have seen over the years here is that how one gets off seems to play a part. Those who stop suddenly or too rapidly can be hit with some pretty rough symptoms, especially during the acute period which lasts on average about a month. Most feel noticeable improvement following the acute phase. It looks like you have past that awful period as you are stating to feel better. I am hoping that the remaining symptoms will be short lived like your use. But already it looks like you have started to heal.
[Ce...]
It's hard to say, because it's different for everyone. I'm sorry to hear about your seizure. No fun, for sure. I had a grand mal quite a while back, due to w/d, as well. No hospital, but it was sure scary. If you're feeling better already, it's a good sign you are on your way to a full recovery! That's great news! I really don't think you need to concern yourself with a time frame. Just allow yourself to heal in your own time. Be well....~CeCe
[Da...]
Hi Runner4576, people post this question all the time looking for a time frame and we just cannot say because we don't know. From my experience mine is lasting a long time but I was using more for much longer than you. Just ride it out it seems like your acute phase is getting better so you should see the symptoms getting better, which you do, ride it out and you should feel better soon. Guest [Ru...]
Thank you also much. It's a terrifying thing to have to go through alone, I feel like sometimes I think myself crazy worrying/thinking about how I feel. I know it isn't endless but sometimes it feels like it. Any advice pertaining to a quicker healing process is welcome. I run a few miles everyday or walk if I'm tired. I eat well and much more than I was when I was using. I try to occupy myself as best I can but I just hate feeling a little off all the time. It's a hard feeling to describe but I know I'm not alone here. Thanks everyone. Unfortunately there is nothing that can hasten the time. Your CNS has to heal. It has been through a lot and that sometimes can take some time. You are not alone any more. We understand what you are going through. It is often difficult for someone who has not gone through this to truly understand just how difficult the process is. Keeping yourself occupied is probably your best weapon of defense right now. :smitten:
Guest [Ru...]
I know my cns must be restored to its normal state, I hope soon it will be what it once was. I feel much more comfortable when I'm at my house, like its my safe Zone. If I try to leave or go somewhere there's a decent amount of people or if I even have a conversation with someone here I feel like I'm in a dream or just not completely "there"... Is this all normal?
