[Re...]

I am 18 days off Ativan my main symptoms are anxiety depression sore eyes and abdominal pain. During my taper Excercise helped my anxiety alot. Is it too soon excercise? Will it flare up the withdrawl symptoms?

Thanks alot

It's worth a shot. Heavy lifting throws me into a wave but light lifting and cardio I can tolerate. Heavy lifting and dead lifts are just to taxing on my CNS right now.

I worked out 5 days a week my first two months off. You just have to ignore everything your mind is saying and not push your body hard. Only do small amount at a time and very slowly build up your stamina. The second and third week off for me it was to hard to workout though. I did notice it would flare up symptoms sometimes, but everyone is different. To me the benefits of working out, outweighs the cons of withdrawal.  After two months i was actually able to workout hard  during my third month off. So do what you can while you can my friend.

Think of it like a long term investment. Even if your only putting a little bit of work in the benefits will be great in the long run. I think the first two months everything causes flare ups or your just suffering so much you link it to anything.

Do very light things like running in place, yoga, light light weights, idk

Good Luck

Thanks for advice. Remy did you find first 3 weeks the worst of your symptoms?

Yeah first three weeks where hell. After that I saw small gradual improvements. The bad symptoms where still there and still got really bad. There where improvements nonetheless. Then around my sixth week I got a amazing window and felt very hopeful about everything. Everyone's experience is different though.

Try not expect symptoms/timeframes during recovery . Just take it one hour, one second ,one day at a time. Focus more on each moment and living in that moment as much as possible. The more you are living in the moment the less you will focus on the withdrawel experience .

Ok thanks so much for your quick response I have a four year old to take care of and enjoy. I am just trying to think about the upcoming months to make sure he has everything he needs. Knowing it should only get better from here is reassuring
