Hello, my dear BBs!

I came back today to send some hope!

https://www.google.com/search?q=benzo+healing+time&biw=320&bih=460&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj4guLRkOfOAhWJbB4KHbY-BCwQ_AUICCgB#imgrc=sD77H76RfUeJ9M%3A

This is a chart I found on my own before learning it was so useful and popular with everyone in the community. I found that it's supposed to read exactly how I deciphered it from the beginning!

They specifiy that the chart above shows percentage of people healed 100% throughout the two year period. It reads that's 4% of the benzo population felt 100% right off the bat (their receptors weren't downregulated I guess); 23% felt 100% at 3 months; 35% felt 100% at 6 months, etc.

It does NOT read that (for example) EVERYONE *only* felt 4% healed at the beginning, that EVERYONE *only* felt 23% at 3 months, that EVERYONE *only* felt 35% at 6 months, etc.

Now this is how I always read the chart anyway, but some people decifer it differently. So, I wanted to share to send hope - it REALLY COULD end any day for each of us! I know for me it's right around the corner. I feel normal today - Thank God!

Thinking of you all! God bless!

Never again

Thanks for this info Never. It seems totally realistic and appropriate to me. With each passing quarter, it looks like the percentage goes up. That's good news to me! Thank you so much! This is why we should never do this again😃.

This is how I always read it until someone confused me and was adament it takes everyone 2 years to get to 100%. But I always read it as it says - 23% felt 100% at 3 months, 35% felt 100% at 6 months, etc.

Is this how everyone else reads it, too? It would stand true to how I've been feeling? At this rate, I'll fall somewhere between 9 and 12 months? And that's really only because I drank heavily in January extending this by a month and a half.

This is great, illneverdothisagain - thanks so much!

It actually makes me feel a little better about how crappy I feel today.

I read it as x percentage of people feel better at month x, not people feel x percentage better at x month. But given that we don't know the sample size (unless I didn't read something that goes along with the chart?) I wonder how much this data is actually relevant.

I do think we all should have hope of healing no matter what.

Sure thing, Leslie!

I'm with you, Klonopinupgirl.

So many new names. Don't worry, guys - it truly does get so much better. Stay away from alcohol, though!

Eric how you been man? Im rarely on here anymore. Going better for you?

Things are up and down, thanks for asking. Around month 4-5 I started feeling really well but months 6 and 7 have been rough with anxiety, muscle twitches, and hand/arm issues. One day at a time!

Thanks for posting this! You are very kind to have shared this with us. Truth finally

Of course, B! Always nice to see your name. I actually miss all of my benzo warriors. How are you??

Some would argue that *everyone* takes two years, and those are the percentage they improve by each month, and that's simply not the truth.

Hi there! Thanks! It feels great, with minor flare ups. You'll get here!

Incorrect, my friend! 23% of the people involved in the study felt healed at 3 months, 35% at 6 months, etc.

😁

Ill Never- thanks for those stats...it helps me feel better that I am not yet at 100 percent at 3 months out...I guess only 23 percent of people are at the 3 month mark. Maybe 6 months will be my magic number- I hope so!!!!

I'm good thanks! I've been healing slowly...but it's happening. I can finally sleep! I'm just sensitive to a lot of things...like food, exercise and work stress.  I think I'm in stage 3 of healing now!  ;D

How have you been? I haven't seen your name on the posts too much.  Are you healing well? You seemed pretty good a few months back.  I hope you are even better! :smitten:

The graph would mean a lot more if we knew what the average time of benzodiazipine usage was and the average dosage amount for the subjects in this study. Someone who used, say 0.5mg Xanax ,for a month versus someone who had used 4.0mg Xanax for years are going to have substantially different healing time trajectories.

Azalea - benzosupport.org 😃

Choco - sure thing!

ontheroadme - at 6 months (actually 5.5) my agoraphobia lifted and physical sxs started dropping off and breaking up! I pray the same for you!

Bhealthy yes, that's when everything started breaking up and I took my first trip to Florida! Overall, I'm a ton better. Most days I feel like I'm right in front of the finish line. If mental sxs would kindly see their way out, I'd feel healed. Although they're breaking up now, too, and have been since 7.5. I'd love to see where I'd be if I didn't drink like a fish in January, but oh well! Ya live and ya learn, right?

I am healing well, Glory to God. You haven't seen me post much because I'm all but done on here. In fact, I said goodbyes and the only thing that brought me back was when I stumbled across charts similar to this one on benzosupport.org that specified how they should be read, and I felt the need to return to clarify for anyone who may have needed it. As I said, I know someone I knew read it as *everyone* took 2 years and the percentages were how well they improved through out the 2 years and that's simply not the case. It *really can* be over any day! Whenever the last bunch of receptors decide to upregulate! Haha!

sahtest although that may be true, I wouldn't be concerned with it. I've met a bunch of people who were on them for 25+ years who healed in the same time frame as short term users (the year mark.) I, myself, was a high-dose, long term user who CT'd AND drank heavily once, and I'll be healed within 1 year. Even Ashton says regardless of dose of length, all but 10-15% healed by a year. 👍🏼
