Advice on last few steps before jump?

[Ge...]

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I need some advice about the last few steps before the jump. I am currently on 0.75 mg Valium, the original plan was to go 1mg for 1 week, 0.5mg 1 week, then jump, but after reading this forum and noticing that my symptoms got worse, I decided to slow down.

I have 3,5 tablets of 2 mg left, so 7 mg.

My new plan is this:

27th August = 0.5 mg for 5 days

1st September = 0.25 mg for 10 days

Jump on 10th?

I was thinking about making even a smaller dose, as apparently diazepam stays in the liver and fat cells, to make the transition even smoother, but I am unable to cut the 2mg tablet in smaller pieces than 0,25mg (even 0,5 mg is difficult). Would it be possible to dissolve a tablet, or is 0,25mg a "safe" jump?

Ok guys, going to 0.5 mg today.

As I am bored and it's hot outside, I made an Excel sheet of my taper (feel free to use it). http://www.filedropper.com/benzotaper

As you can see in the sheet and on the picture below:

Taper.png

the difference (in %) between the current dose and the 14 day average (as Valium is slowly excreted from the body, staying in fat). It's easy to see that the last 3 weeks, there are days where the daily dose is 30-40% below the 14day average.

I wonder if the symptoms I am experiencing are worse because of that, or doesn't the % drop really matter that close to 0?

Still, even having 1mg of Valium in your body all the time seems a significant amount...

Change of plans!

Going to 0.5mg would be too fast in 5 days. Wild hold 0.75 mg for 4 more days, then 10 days 0.5mg, then 10 days 0.25mg.

Better a safe, slow landing than a crash and burn.

Will this discuss this slower schedule with my doctor on Monday.

Last couple of days have been really bad. Loads of anxiety especially.

Went to the doctor today, he agreed with the plan to do 0.75mg for a couple of days, then 0.5mg for 2 weeks, then 0.25mg or jump.

Let's hope so!

Tomorrow the move to 0.5mg. Today was ok, symptoms worst around noon, also a wave around 17, but much less than during the weekend.

I can see the finishline and it's close yet so far away...

After jump you may have 3 months ACUTE

And then FREE

The acute period on average lasts about 1-6 weeks with some noticeable improvement usually felt after. Most do not go through it for three months....fortunately.

That would be even better news, 6 weeks :)
