She then mentioned that 56 hours later she was woked up with a pounding heart. That scared me. is this part of withdrawal?
[Da...]
Hi Momack, that can happen but you have to keep in mind that each person is different and reacts in a different way. So what others experience is not what you may experience. Also when you read posts on this site or other sites don't jump to any conclusions. You can easily get scared by reading posts on this or other sites. Take them with a grain of salt. The majority of people experience little or no symptoms, or the symptoms only occur in the first few weeks after stopping. Just take it easy and you should be OK. Contrats on making it this far. [am...]
Momack, i had the same experience when I recently jumped off of Klonopin. I saw some really bad experiences online and it made me nervous. Although I wouldn't say that it was the most pleasant feeling at first, I truly believe that my mind was only feeling secure when I took the pill even though it wasn't helping me toward the end. Once you are off for a few days just tell yourself "well I made it this far, so I really off" and don't look back. There will most likely be some weird feelings that pop up but just realize that you are finally off that benzo and it's now time to move forward. Congrats to you btw! [Kl...]
It is a symptom that will pass. My heart would go insane all throughout the day. Laying down was especially bad as you expect your body to relax. I kept repeating in my mind that it was wothdrawals and distancing myself from the physical symptoms mentally. [on...]
try not to believe everything you read- each person has a unique reaction to coming off benzos. After taking xanax for thirty continuous years I did not experience a pounding heart when I jumped/ Yes- I did and still have other symptoms- but that was not one of them. Try to stay calm- that is what will help the most in your days post jump!
[...]
And by the way. IF, and that's a big IF, you get Strong or Fast heart rate, or both... It's one of the easier symptoms to treat as you can take a beta blocker for it without it affecting your benzo withdrawal. Cessation of beta blockers is not anywhere near as bad cessation of benzo's so you don't have to worry about adding another withdrawal to your to do list in future. [Da...]
Hi momack, You are always going to read horror stories on here so you have to learn to take it with a grain of salt. Every person has a different experience and different symptoms and different durations of the symptoms. Don't believe because one person reports a symptoms that means that is going to happen to you. Also if that worries you don't even try to read anything in the protracted section. Good luck! You made the right decision.
