Synthetic vitamin D had a strange effect on my sleep as well. It made me wake up more often.

Avoid it if you can and stay in the sun as much as you can instead. Large amounts of vitamin D are not natural for human body.

Can I have a slug? fwiw~~that damned Benadryl kept me awake too. I recently began taking 2,000 of Vit D3 and it does not affect my taper or my sleep. I hear the doxylamine version of Unisom works well.

It's good it doesn't do that to you, 2000 daily is also a reasonable dose! Some people go up to 5000 or even 10.000 daily and this may result in hypercalcemia.

One person told me she was taking 50,000 every day. Must have bad bones.

I've read some online protocols about Vitamin D, some claim there is no danger in taking such high doses, while doctors will warn you about serious hypercalcemia risks and permanent organ calcification! It's a controversial topic.

I think I read the same things and at first got me scared. But 2,000 seems to be OK. I recently had a vitamin blood check and they all came out normal. I wasn't sure about Iron tho......But that turned out OK too.
