[ne...]
I'm no expert, but I would think its withdrawal. I freaked when I got an eye tic. It was visible; had to wear glasses to cover it. Did some research and learned that facial tics are common in w/d because they are less coordinated than other muscles, and therefore more susceptible to the ravages of benzo w/d. My eyelid tic lasted a half day and has never returned. I think you're okay. You're already a proven survivor. This too shall pass.
[Fl...]
Thanks for the response I'm so tired of this feeling!! I have to wear sunglasses when I go outside and have prescription glasses now! The prescription seems to relax my right eye. Some days it feel like it's just bad eye strain and some days I know it's withdrawal and some days I think it's something more serious .
[ne...]
Sometimes I notice eye tics and vision changes when I go from contacts to glasses, even prior to benzo use. So I think this particular symptom is probably more common than we realize. I have a lot of health anxiety, so all these w/d symptoms scare the crap outta me. I'm working on that. But you're all right. I just know it. Breathe!!!
[Fl...]
Thank you for your confidence. I have health anxiety too. Ever since thyroid cancer in 2008 it's even worse now after stupid melanoma!! This symptom is very painful not like common eye problems I don't believe, I literally feels like my face is contracting !! uhg !! I think my doctor should have prescribe 10 mgs of Valium when I was still on the .5 mgs of Xanax. That would have been an even crossover. Instead I was given only 4 mgs and I have not been able to stabllize. I don't want to take more and run out.
[Be...]
Be sure to mention to your doctor (again if necessary); however, nothing about muscle tightness, quivering, fasciculations, etc. would surprise me in benzo withdrawal. One of the things I struggle with is tension headaches all the time, which Ashton attributes to muscles in our necks and the back of the skull. I have pain throughout my skull region, probably from compression of the nerves at the back of the neck.
[Fl...]
Benzo3, gave you ever tell thought it tried to investigate this pinched nerve idea further? I asked my Nuero about a nerve being affect led at the back of the head or neck that could cause this sensation and he said that there was no connection between your neck and face. I don't know if agree with that statement.
[ne...]
Flameazalea, I feel your pain. I wasn't crossed over from A to X, I was abruptly switched, but like you, to a lower dose of X. I have had symptoms ever since then. Switched again to K, yet again at a lower equivalent dose. I've had some pretty rough sxs since then. Can't work, cam barely stand up long enough to shower some days. Doctor advised a huge updose which would have put me right back to ground zero. I tried updosing a bit, but had a bad reaction. I have never stabilized, but have decided to move forward anyway, using liquid titration and making smaller cuts. The way I see it, updosing didn't work, sitting still hasn't changed anything. Nowhere to go but down. My opinion is that if you don't stabilize in a reasonable amount of time (whatever that means to you), you're probably better off continuing your taper. Just my opinion, I may be wrong. If so, I hope the better informed and experienced folks here will chime in.
