[Go...]
So Ashton manual doesnt have a taper plan for ativan without the diazepam crossover? Wish there was, would help me since I need everything spelled out and in writing with my missing mind. I was hoping someone had an example taper schedule written out. Thanks. Brief dose history: 2009: lorazepam 3-4mg/day "as needed" Winter and spring 2016: inconsistent dosing due to memory. Caused d.p./d.r., etc. May or June 2016: accidently put my body into bad withdrawal by missing doses (forgetting to take it) which was how I first learned about benzo w.d. July 2016: 2.5mg/day (dose was a guess I made due to not knowing how much I had been taking aka to stabilize a consistent dose.)
Guest [ba...]
You can taper ativan even though it's not in Ashton's manual. Since it has a short half-life, people tend to dose a few times a day to have a more consistent level of the drug inside of them. In a way it's a nice way to taper because you can reduce the dose from that part of the day when you feel the best. You can even reserve a little extra for your night-time dose to help you sleep. [Ch...]
If you're at 2.5mg of Lorazepam(Ativan) you may want to start with a .125mg (1/4 of a .5 tablet) or .25mg (1/2 of a .5 tablet) cut. I would wait until a week to two weeks has passed before planning the next cut. See how it goes.
