[Re...]
I cam go a couple days without having them. Then I am bombarded with multiple throughout my upper body . It's the worst in my neck shoulders and back. I even had it at the front of my neck last night. It was very painful Does anyone else experience these? I am getting the paranoia that something else is wrong with me. Thanks
[be...]
Hi there I hear you, I really do. I took K-pin for 20 years and one of my worst sxs are the muscle spasms in my feet and calfs especially in the am. I also have the adrenaline surges and lately I have been so angry. My moods have tanked and I feel pretty miserable. This must be withdrawal as I am markedly in a fowl mood. Everything feels like it is the end of the world. The future looks so bleak. I wish I could be more encouraging but you are not alone in your sxs. I hope we get a reprieve from all of this soon.
[Re...]
Hearing someone else feels the way I do does encourage me. That way I know I am not alone in facing this. Yeah my mood has took a horrible turn. I feel like an escape mental patient how rapidly my mood can change. I hope you feel better soon too. [Mb...]
Remy, your right. The muscle spasms are horrible, especially in the upper back, shoulder, and neck area. My legs and feet cramp too. It is withdrawal. I've been tested for everything, and all the tests were normal for me. But the muscle spasms and aches are so severe they don't feel normal. You're certainly not alone. [si...]
In the early months of being off Benzos, I had muscle cramps and spasms. But now they are gone. I still have muscle, tendon and joint pain but it is bearable. Because it is a cns problem, advil or tylenol did not seem to help much.
[Se...]
Remy, If you read through this thread and the links here (a couple of other threads), you'll find the information that really helped me with my muscle pain. Really helped. http://www.benzobuddies.org/forum/index.php?topic=159952.0 I'm doing so amazingly well since starting this protocol. I haven't had to take any pain meds at all for over a week - prior to that I was taking them every night for over 20 months and often during the day as well. It is like night and day. I've only done the muscle pain supplement part - haven't done the myofascial trigger point injections. But honestly, I've been at this now for a month and the way things are going, I'm not sure I'll need the trigger point injections. It has been amazing to me - a mini miracle. Pain was the WORST withdrawal symptom - muscle pain - for me from month 18 to this past month. Almost 2 years of intense pain, often unrelenting. Excruciating and just beat me down. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions. Ali

If it worked for you maybe it can work for me. I would rather not take anything .
[Re...]
I think I would have to wait a couple more months before I try any supplements . My body is still hyper sensitive and the last time I tried magnesium . During my taper, it really reved up my anxiety. Like into a panic attack. I am not sure why I have never had issues with it in the past. So I am a little weary to try any supplements.
[Se...]
Understood. Perhaps just stop the calcium for now, that really helped me. And if you can't do oral magnesium perhaps try the magnesium lotion or epsom salts baths. I buy my epsom salts at the livestock feed store, much cheaper. I do 3 to 4 cups/bath and soak for 20 minutes. I also had problem with B vitamins early on but this past year I can tolerate them. I think the brand/form of magnesium really matters and highly recommend that when you do try again, you find the SISU brand (it is on Amazon). What won't work at one point in your recovery, doesn't necessary still not work as you heal. I do understand the hesitation. The pain was the worst part for me though in the past 20 months, I would have done anything to help that symptom. Ali

Yeah i really want to try it especially since it worked for you. I have just read a of of threads on here saying we should avoid supplementing early in withdrawal. From what i have gathered we are early in withdrawal till around 6 months. I just dont want to set myself back further when things are already so hard right now. It could be like pouring gasoline on a fire.
[Se...]
Remy, In that thread should be this thread: http://www.benzobuddies.org/forum/index.php?topic=148147.msg2000890#msg2000890 Honestly, prior to this supplement regime, I had so much relief from isolating and stretching the affected muscles and holding the stretch for 10 minutes. The stretches are listed in that thread (a link). This gave me relief even when the spasms were at their worst. So no need to take supplements until you are ready. Stop the calcium (Dr. Henry's blog explains why this is critical) and do your stretching when the spasms hit. And myofascial trigger point injections have helped my husband so much, it has been amazing to see his response so if all else fails, you might get relief from this approach which is also non-pharmaceutical. Just don't give up hope. The pattern of our recovery changes as we get further out. Benzos and z-drugs are very powerful muscle relaxants, when we stop them some of us really suffer and sadly for many months, sometimes years. Had I known about all of this though, I could have avoided much of that suffering. Ali

Thank you for the well wishes. I truly hope that you feel better as well. We did not sign up for this. If I had been told that this stuff is so addictive that it will take months to years to feel right after you stop it, I would have said "no way!". I had no clue what so ever what I was getting into . I have some anger towards my doctor for giving it to me but I know he is unaware so it's not truly his fault. I took the pills and didn't research them so really it's my fault.
