Evening Anxiety Surges

[Bh...]

Recommended Posts

So I've been getting these anxiety surges at night before bed.  I lay in bed and feel the electricity pulse through my body/mind. I don't know what's causing them.

Is it cortisol or glutamate?

Is there any herb that I can take to nip this in the bud so I can relax a bit to sleep?

I also ate kind of late last night...8pm.  I had a regular dinner and then 2 apples that obviously had sugar in them.  I take it I should avoid sugar after 5pm just to be safe.  What do you think? I need to go back to fasting again.  I slept better when I didn't eat anything.  Food seems to be my enemy.

Thanks for your advice  ;)

I had a feeling that I should avoid carbs...they get turned right into sugar.  Then the glucose fuels the anxiety that's already present.  This is never any good. Thanks for your thoughts  ;)

I had very simar experience.

It was stressful cutting all carbs.

So i went back eating carbs instead, doing intermittenent fasting.

Then i got this burnibg sensation and pain at nite.

I never had this symptom.

So i am back to paleo.w

I will see how it goes.

There is a famous german book about how to eat for emotional balance, and the author says the more instabile and over-emotional you feel, the more protein you should eat and less carbs. Don't forget the good fat. I tried that before I found my favorite diet and it worked out well:-)

I made good experience with boiled eggs, on the one hand its pure protein on the other hand the lecithine is helping you nervous system to recover. Works best with dark bread and butter.

Hi behealthy17, I have a terrible diet now. I eat mostly junk food and only one meal per day. I have lost like 25 lbs since I started this process and I'm actually glad it came off and I want to lose another 15 lbs, which I seem on course to do. I do have anxiety surges or panic attacks where I start shaking. I have become nocturnal since this process started so they happen anytime of the day or night especially if anything stresses me out I get shaky.

Thanks guys for sharing your knowledge with me.  I feel better knowing that I'm not alone.

I'll have to increase my protein amount then.  I'll cut back on the carbs and see how I do.  I love eggs too!  :)
