[Sh...] Posted August 6, 2016 Share Posted August 6, 2016 When you're having a hard time with sadness, uselessness...what do you do to keep your mind of things ?? I listen to music but to me that's not enough...i used to be a dance-aholic for 12h/ week. But in this situation i just can't and i miss it terribly. I only watch tele in the evenings... i walk my dog 2-3 times a day but when having a difficult time i need to be occupied, besides the household stuff that i have to do each and every day. So what works for you ? Love to hear some ideas ! I used to watch my zumba dvd's but now my dvd 's broken can't do that till it's repaired again Curious how you girlzzz/guyzz are killing time ? Thanks and good luck to you all x Sh x When I am feeling sad or useless I find grounding skills to be very helpful to distract from the sadness. Writing of any kind I been writing jokes lately.... There mostly lame , but I have one goood one so far. So I will keep writing them. Reading is the greatest pass time for me right now since I can't be to psychical due to my symptoms. Couldn't you watch Zumba on the Internet for free? YouTube? Ect ect Meditation is great I have been meditating like a monk since I jumped. I think I am getting really good at it. You should try it out there's guided ones on YouTube . Yoga is good to for passing time also tons of videos for that on YouTube I do the gentle yoga videos becasue of muscl pain. Sometimes I stand in front of the mirror and pretend I am a dinosaur and make dinosaur sounds. That's good fun. If none of that is fun there is always throwing rocks at cars..... Reading, gaming, social networking, I have a store online, so I write descriptions, research info on items I post online, spend time on here (BB), walk my dog, garden a little, and try to keep up the house. Not a lot, but it's slow as she goes....when I'm really sad I call my momma in SC. Keeping distracted is a good idea, hope this helps. I know it's not much. I also do some yoga, some dance if i feel upto it, i walk my dog 2 times or 3 times a day depending on... a friend showed me a nice game online to play, and i like playing games with my family when they're around ! [el...] Posted August 19, 2016 Share Posted August 19, 2016 When my family is not around I bring out old photo albums and even my daughter's old journals from school when she was young - helps with memory and gives me a needed smile when seeing our life thru the eyes of a child. Since the time i started this topic... i already started zumba classes again. Making choreographies i did lots before i got sick. But i'm going that direction again... i will start making dances again as i was a dance teacher for kids and a zumba teacher. Right now i'm already attending zumba classes to find my passion and me again and if i can do that again i'm sure i will be heading towards teaching again. I'm sure if you like dancing you will dance again ! oh, lots of. No matter if its a tango, modern or jazz, or just shaking my bud like the girls in a music channel... And I loved to learn new choreographies a lot.. If you'd like to visit my blog you're welcome : got 2 of them : mine : shakemarieke's step to step to dancing again, i also got a zumba thread and of course Bg's blog where lots of nice people are and lots of other dance lovers. So you're welcome to drop by. I'm sure the jitters to dance will come back again. It's because of one girl there who already danced through this medication i got myself upto doing this again myself.. if she could do that, so would i ! And of course some personal friends who pushed me to go over my limits. We can also talk over this thread if that is what you like. Just wanted you to know you're welcome to visit those threads.
