Lower Daily Dose - Smaller Cuts of Xanax?

So, I may have spoken too soon on here - I was cruising along in my Xanax taper plan cutting .125 MG every 5 days or so. Yesterday, I made that same cut that gets me down to a total of .625 MG for the day.  However, by the end of the day yesterday, I started feeling some withdrawal symptoms creeping back in. And now today, I'm in full blown withdrawal, feel so sick.  So, my question is, now that I'm getting down to a lower daily total doses, should I perhaps cut only .0625 MG every 5 days or so? Do you think the cutting of .125 MG every 5 days is now going to be more difficult at the lower doses?

 

I'm so bummed, I was doing so good and feeling so well and now today I feel awful!

Yes, that's what I would do.  10% is now more like .0625mg cuts.  You may be able to cut by that amount the rest of the way down.

 

As far as your symptoms today, knowing what I know now, I would go right back to .75 and hold until the symptoms subsided.  In my experience, the symptoms I brought on with a cut that was too aggressive didn't go away for a long time.  I could've avoided that by correcting my dose, but I didn't know to do that at the time.

Thanks so much Challis. I was debating whether or not to go back to the .75 MG a day since I was only at the lower dose for about 24 hours.  I think I will do that and hold until I feel better.  I am still dosing 4 X a day, so with my next dose today I will go back up to a .25 MG pill instead of just .125 MG like I did yesterday in the mid afternoon.  That will get me back up to .75 MG a day.  Then, after I feel stabilized, I will start making the .0625 MG cuts and see how that goes.  I knew this was getting too easy when I was feeling so good!  LOL!
