Foot Cramping from moving Toes. Whats your cramp timeline?

[wo...]

Recommended Posts

At about 70 days I am experiencing more cramping.  Simply moving my toes results in bad cramping in my arches.

I was on xanax daily for over seven years.  I do not recall this before.  I got a few years off, then last Summer started again several times a week.  Quit may 12th.

Anyone finding that cramping is worsening?

Hi wornout

YES...foot cramping up especially in the morning for me. It is almost every day. I did not notice having this before my stint on a benzo. I also have hypersalivation. go figure.  ::)

Benzos are nasty. I think the foot cramping, tinnitus and hypersalivation are the most noticeable physical symptoms for me right now. I am not including insomnia and all of the other mental stuff that is going on.

My cramping started at one month and is continuing so far.

I don't know if this will help in your situation but I have found that I can pull my foot out of the cramp as its happening. It just means stretching my toes upwards. If it is more severe or I make the split second decision that it's too extreme, I place my foot on the floor and press down. I never have more than a second of a cramp by doing this.

Gotya.  Yes, I discovered that a while ago.  I dont get a full blown charlie horse, its just on the verge or threshold of getting real bad and I can abort usually.

My toes started moving on their own at about 1 year off.. or maybe earlier. Can't remember the sequence of all the crazy stuff going on with my body, should have kept a diary. Sometimes when I tried to move them to stop them from moving on their own, I got cramps... every time it was a different sensation. This lasted for about 1-2 month on and off. Ah well, nasty times.

You could give magnesium a try at this point.  Some find it beneficial and some find it revs symptoms this early in recovery.
