[be...]
Hi everyone! Today marks 75 days without benzos for me. I was forcibly c/t off of Klonopin in April. Luckily I did not have a massive seizure, but the withdrawal has been awful. I had been taking 1mg of klonopin tid for 10 years. I am separated from my husband and my boyfriend left me when I was hospitalized. He saw me in acute withdrawal and couldn't handle it. So I'm very sick and very alone right now. I've been reading lots of posts here and the support is incredible. I'm excited to finally be a member. I truly wish you all the best going through this awful withdrawal. God bless! [me...]
Hello benzogirl27, and welcome to the forum! Those of us who've been c/t'd off benzos in the past know what you are going through. You'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of withdrawal, and you're likely to see people who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them. For those who are currently tapering, we suggest reducing no faster than 5-10% every 10-14 days. One exception: very short-term users of a few weeks or less may be able to taper faster than that. Here are a few links you may find useful: Cold Turkey, Detox & Rapid Withdrawal The Ashton Manual is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery. Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field. She describes and explains withdrawal symptoms in Chapter III, and there is also a section with withdrawal/taper schedules. Please take the time to Create a Signature. This will allow others to see where you are in the process so they can better support you. Again, welcome! [be...]
Well don'eel alone any longer. We understand what you have been going through. I, too, did a detox. I actually did three of them over a several year period. The withdrawal this way can be pretty horrific as you most likely found out the first month during acute. What I can tell you from my own personal experience is that it does get better, but those early months can be rough. Healing is typically a slow gradual process. The good news is that you never have to do those 75 days over again. They are now history.
