[ca...]
I thought that by now I would have this behind me. Shortly after I was completely off of Xanax I experienced spasms under my chin and tightness in my jaw and tongue. It has left for a while but in the last 6 months has returned. It seems like whenever I am stressed even a little it aggravates the problem. Most of my symptoms are gone but will come back for a short period of time and then go away. On my best day,I will experience some discomfort at least once in a day. Today, I woke up with pain and tightness which comes and goes. I have read that some have experienced some similar things. I was on Xanax for around 30 days and took about 2 to 3 months of tapering to get off of it. I would have to say that the worst is over. The dizziness, panic attacks are history. I have some ringing in my ears and occasional muscle twitching. Is this sounding familiar to anybody. Am I getting close to being over this? I wish that more in the medical profession understood this. My wife wants me to tell our doctor so that I can get something for the pain and discomfort. I am dead set against taking anything, prescribed. That's how I got here in the first place. I've been taking Ibuprofen whenever it gets too painful. I have a very hard time talking when it acts up. The bottom line is that it interferes with the things I want to do on a daily basis. I try to not let it keep me from doing things but there are times that I have to make an exit! I would welcome any encouragement from someone that has gone through this. Thank you!!
[we...]
I really Think that,we must not put un due pressure on ourselves to perform to any bodies standards,if it is not comfortable for you.You are smart to leave or cancel or do what is needed to keep your healing brain as calm as it can be.Its acceptance that it is gonna take some time.I think we ca over do it,trying to get back into life to quickly. Some days are really just one day at a time!Hope for fast healing for you so you can get back to doing spontaneous things!wen
[so...]
Ibuprofen effects GABA receptors. Take Tylenol. Sofa
[ca...]
That may explain why after the ibuprofen wears off I get more sx. Thank you. I would rather not take anything. I am a little scared of the Tylenol. I'm watching my sugar intake and swearing off any kind of alcohol. My sx in last couple of day haven't been too bad, in fact today was almost sx free. [am...]
I've been having a similar problem. Sometimes when talking a lot my entire tongue gets tired, all the way into the throat. But this has been associated with a 4 month wave including massive throat issues (tight, swallowing problem, stabbing pains, ear pressure). Also, it seems to coincide with an ache in the top back part of throat/mouth.
[ca...]
Thankyou for your response. At the time that I wrote that, I had been in that wave for about 5 months. What you have described is almost exactly what I have experienced and still experience from time to time. It seems to be lightening up in the last month or two. I have found that if I get just the slightest stress, I feel things tightening up in my throat, tongue and jaw. Sometimes my ear also aches. It's good that we have others that have gone through this to let us know that we aren't loosing our minds or that we have some incurable disease. That is a great comfort that we all need. Again thank you and I hope that you are making progress, as I am.
[am...]
I appreciate the reply, camre. My throat issues are better in the last week than in the last few months. Now my sinus/head/nasal problems. It does help when you see others with the same thing since I have bad health anxiety. I of course think the worst. One day at a time as they say.
