Daily Liquid Taper: Do I lower each day?

[Ho...]

Recommended Posts

Uhh...daily means each day!  ;)

Just FYI, I reached a point where C&H became intolerable, but daily liquid taper was pretty easy.  It's much easier to cut a tiny amount each day, than a big chunk every week or 2.

After getting off of it 100%, how did you feel?  How long did you have the withdrawal symptoms?

You got lucky dropping 1.5mg of K in such a short period.

You're almost there, just ride it out, treat your symptoms as best you can,

good luck,

J-man

I had occasional minor sxs until I got down to 3mg.  After that, I had zero sxs.  And I had no lingering sxs after I jumped.

Literally, you went down each day?  I'm concerned. I am so depressed right now. Not sure if it's good idea or not.

Yes, literally, I went down each day.  Why do you find that surprising?

And your WD/side effects weren't so bad??  That's what I'm afraid of...

Hope your not alone.  Wish I could put together taper like builder.  I'm at 10.37 v,. Tiratting with crushed pills and liquidl.  Not sure how to do this.  My husband seems to know.  Anyway he's not happy and I don't like having to count on him doing this.  He has said he's not doing it anymore.  I told him I do not understand the maths.  I fear if someone dosent tell me in a very simple way how to go down now from that much...you say daily is best.  I tried ten percent and stayed at that for seven days.  Now I'm stuck holding.  Thinking tomorrow I drop 1.04.  In that case...... doing this myself exactly how much liquid do I need and what should I be taking out before I divide my 3 doses and how long should I stay at that amount.  Please help me or I'm faced with trying to cut pills and I find that not working well not accurate enough.

Thought I was on track with help.

  • 2 weeks later...
A tiny reduction every day is much better for me than C&H.  I started liquid titration at 4.25mg  about 6 weeks ago and am reducing 2.5 ml every night.  This is a reduction equivalent of .25 grams every 10 days.  It is so much easier.  I am sleeping better and have milder physiological symptoms. The only thing to be scared of is getting the process right. It took me a few days to feel confident about the mixture. Practice makes perfect.

Hey! Isn't there anyway you can get your medication compounded? Preferably liquid because you can control how much you want to decrease or increase with the plastic oral syringe than pills/ capsules.

HOPE 2016,

I was at 1,25 two days ago.

I started my micro taper yesterday.  I am reducing by .01mg every day. Yesterday I was at 1.24 Today I was at 1.23. Tomorrow I will be at 1.22 and so on.

It is a very slow taper. It will take me 4 months to get to 0mg but I am hoping it will leave me almost completely healed and that I will have very little side effects When I jump.

I may find it too slow, I may increase my cuts  by .02 mg each day.

This is , I think, similar to what builder did. I got the taper schedule from DiazPam on the titration forum board. You may want to look there. She is very  knowledgeable. I think Builder is very knowledgeable too. He has answered all my questions about tapering with liquid Valium, mixing a 10:1 solution with liquid Valium and water, using 10 ml and 1 ml oral dosing syringes. He is a wealth of information.

Good luck! Dont be scared. You can always hold a while if your sfx get bad, you can always go a bit faster if you think your body and brain can handle it. I was very scared, but as time goes by, I can see that a slow taper really does decrease side effects.

But you dont want to go too slow. That is my biggest problem. But "skittles" has helped me to see that going too slow may be counter productive. I DO want to get off this Valium as soon as I can, so I don't want to go too slow.

Good luck!  YOU CAN DO THIS,  we are all here to support you.  HEATHCLIFF

Hooe2016,

Forgot to mention I know someone else on this forum who is doing the daily micro taper and has gotten down from 1mg Valium to .58 mg and is still dropping . She said it is going very well. Only had to hold once for about three days I think, because if a bad side effect. i don'tt see her on the boards any more though.

Thanks HeathCliff!  How are you feeling these days?  I'm tapering off directly from Klonopin. Last night I went down to 0.070mg from 0.085. I am doing a fast taper but the dizziness slowly dissipates each time. I still have the dizziness though!  I just wish this to was over already....

I'm still here, lurking!  I'm at .37 mg tonight and am now hitting withdrawal symptoms.  Mostly just muscle cramps, trigger points, a bit of parasthesia and it seems some kind of intolerance to exercise.  We planted flowers yesterday and I did new PT exercises today and my glutes, hips and hamstrings are unreasonably sore and prickly feeling.  I'm going to blame it on the taper instead of the fact that I've done zero exercise for too long...  :D

I made a post in withdrawal support about it just in case though.

I've had zero anxiety, insomnia, or other symptoms though!  It's all just the muscle stuff and only the ones listed above.

Good thing you don't have insomnia or anxiety issues. The muscle issues is because you are not abel to relax the muscles. Hot bath before bed, yoga, meditation, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture should help. It sounds like you could jump probably very very soon.
