[Ce...]
Hey everyone! I feel like I'm a complicated case per say, I went ct about a month ago and I do not want to go back to them ever. My doc at the time, told me to do it in 2 weeks. I was taking Klonopin 3 mg. daily for 6 years. She had me go down way too fast and now, after joining a group about wd, I know that.. I went one week at 2 mgs and then 1 week at 1 mgs and done. It feels like a punishment when I really would rather celebrate! I hope to share with all of you my experiences and hope to hear yours as well. Maybe we can learn from each other!
[me...]
Hello CeCe Too, and welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, many doctors don't know much about the value of a slow taper, and have their patients taper off way too fast. I'm sorry this happened to you. You'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of withdrawal, and you're likely to see people who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them. For those who are currently tapering, we suggest reducing no faster than 5-10% every 10-14 days. One exception: very short-term users of a few weeks or less may be able to taper faster than that. Here are a few links you may find useful: Post Withdrawal Support Board The Ashton Manual is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery. Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field. She describes and explains withdrawal symptoms in Chapter III, and there is also a section with withdrawal/taper schedules. Please take the time to Create a Signature. This will allow others to see where you are in the process so they can better support you. Again, welcome! [pb...]
Hi, I just arrived yesterday and am learning my way around as well. You give me hope that I will be able to get off klono myself. Are you still feeling withdrawal symptoms? After 6 years, I'm amazed that you were able to do so well as to still be able to be coherent! I'm down to my last 1 MG per day and have realized that I am going to have to cut down by tiny pieces every couple of weeks in order to be able to cope. You give me hope!! Good to have you here!! [Ce...]
Hi pbeehive , Yes it is good to be here! I've heard so much about BB thru some of the groups on Facebook. I am still in withdrawal and do feel symptoms, it's only been a month. I can't wait until I can say "I haven't taken Klonopin in years!". But am positive that day will come . It's sure been a long road....and your right! There were times when I wasn't feeling very coherent. I'm not even close to being out of the woods yet. I still have a lot of anxiety, today I noticed I had 2 panic attacks off and on. I was hoping those were over. This is so wild. I feel like I'm in a different country in my mind, ya know? At first I wasn't sure I'd get through it. I even called the paramedics a couple times thinking I had all sorts of diseases, my mind convinced me of that. You are smart to go with a slow taper, if I could go back, I would have insisted. I want to succeed in this and I truly believe that is how it's done. I kinda feel like I'm walking on thin ice. I need a doctor who'll understand what this is all about. I don't know where to go! It will get better is what everyone says and I believe that too for you and me!! I'm really glad you wrote me and hope to see you on here! BTW; I haven't read your story yet, so you might hear from me again soon. Good to have you here too!! See you soon, CeCeToo
