[St...]
Hey I'm 18 months out and just been greeted with a new symptom, chest pain. I started a wave on Tuesday, loads of toxic energy and anxiety and for the last 48 hours I've felt like there's an elephant standing on my chest, but more worrying is the intermittent stabbing pains that accompany it. They're like short sharp electric jolts right in the middle of my chest. Can anyone relate? They even woke me from my sleep last night. Given that I'm a 36 year old with no previous heart problems I don't think I need to be rushing to A&E do you? Appreciate your thoughts :'( GOD I WISH I HADN'T COLD TURKEY'D XANAX
[MH...]
Here is the thing. The "elephant standing on your chest"feeling is the thing that would worry the most regarding your description. This is a classic heart issue sign. If the problem isn't heart related, then a visit to the emergency room will simply confirm that this is the case and it will set your mind at ease. If it is heart related, then you need to be seen and evaluated quickly. It really is that simple. Good Luck
[Af...]
Stuck, I've had both symptoms and I still do. The stabbing and the elephant. Get checked out just for the peace of mind. I've had it checked out and I still get worried about it.
[Da...]
If I were you and I were having that problem and it is new, I would definitely go to see a doctor to get peace of mind. Just make sure your blood pressure is not high. High blood pressure actually can happen during the withdrawal process, I have it but I check mine often and take blood pressure medicine. I want you to get checked out just to be sure.
[ho...]
I had the very same thing wake me up in the middle of the night. I was certain I was dying from heart problems. I could not just breathe my way out of the attack. I took a warm bath, tried everything but could not calm down. I eventually drove myself to the emergency room at 4am. When I told the hospital staff I was having chest pains they rushed me past all of the people that had been waiting. Well I got all the usual tests EKG, blood work etc.... and guess what?? Every last test came back 100% normal. So in light of what myself and way too many others already know and have been through, I would say chances are its only withdrawal. Now be that as it may it still feels like god awful crap, I know. Just do your very best to try and calm down somehow. It will pass and these feelings fade. I promise. It really does get better with time. Im praying for you and your well being.
