Beginning Taper process

Would like support during the taper process.  I have irrational thoughts and fears and wonder if others have encountered this, as well.  Was on lorazepam.  Have now switched over to valium for the taper.  Taking Lorazepam for 19 years.

I am glad you found us today.The recommended reduction rate is 5 to 10 percent every two weeks. Tapering too quickly can cause a host of unpleasant symptoms.

 

 

You might like to check out The Ashton Manual it is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field.

Yep, I had totally irrational thoughts and experienced horrific fear earlier in the taper, but luckily that has improved. Totally understand the hell you are going through though – I thought I was losing my mind.
