3rd taper. Am I likely to have long protracted withdrawal after?

Hello all. I am on my 3rd valium taper. I did a 10% dose reduction 3 weeks ago and still feel terrible. I have a long way to go still on my taper, but i am wondering if anyone has successfully tapered off of benzos multiple times and not suffered from protracted withdrawal after? I am reading many testimonials where protracted withdrawal lasts for months or even years after the last dose. Am i likely to experience this hell or do i still have a chance at tapering smoothly even though i am on taper #3?

Blackjack what was your second taper like? How long did it take to feel normal again?

I was on 40mg of valium initially. My doctor at that time knew little about benzo withdrawal and tapered me off very quickly. Got down to about 10mg and she refused to continue the taper. I was experiencing bad withdrawal symptoms at that time which she dismissed as just my "anxiety disorder" coming back and stated i was to stay on that dose indefinitely. At that time i chose a new doctor who worked with me to taper off of the ladt 10 mg slowely at a 1 mg decrease per month. I felt almost completely normal during that phase. Felt very minimal symptoms following completion of taper. After a week or 2 i was back to 100%. Several months later i drank 3 alcoholic beverages and the anxiety returned less than a month before my wedding. My plan was to reinstate at 20mg to get me through my wedding. During that time i felt fine on that dose and the wedding went great. I tried to taper off soon afterwards as i did not want to be on benzos for a long period of time again. Cut to 17.5 mg and had to reup to 20mg because the symptoms were too severe and were impairing my ability to work. Tried again about a month later at 18mg. Currently at that dose for about 3 weeks and feeling like hell still. This time is much more difficult than previous attempts and that concerns me.
