[my...]
Hi BB's, I'm really wondering - again - about a crossover. The problem is that I have spent a year and a half tapering K.... Talk about a time out... But if I were to take this route now it would mean easily another year and a half of tapering, albeit possibly without sxs. And no acute, no stepping off issues...no more pain. I don't know. Both my family and I have paid a price in time and stress coming this far, doing a direct taper. I'd have to do the math but I think my Valium equivalent would be around 8 mg to my current .35 mg dose of K. You know what? I don't think 8 mg of V would cover it....I think I would go in to some sort of crazy w/d at only 8 mg of V. I'm really familiar with Valium and can't imagine 8 mg would be enough.... Anyway...I'd have to do a stepwise cross.. I have a feeling that having come this far on a direct c/h taper, if I crossed over I would have problems. This post is, in part, a reaction to the wonderfully encouraging thread begun by hiking chik...about her taper. It's good reading (on this Withdrawal and Support forum)...it's a current thread that she began over the weekend I think. It reinforces what people like SG have been saying all along... Just wondering what any of you think about crossing over at this stage of the game. Even though I have made an 82.5% reduction in my overall K dosage...that is still a long way from zero. People take 1 1/2 - 2 years to taper 8-10 mg of Valium...the rough equivalent...at least those people who choose to taper without pain. I'll be interested to read others' experiences.... [Va...]
Kgirl10 is doing a combined K and V taper. She's finished with K and working on the V. You can look up her signature and progress log. --V

[my...]
Hi joanet, Could you please create a signature (see profile) so we can see your taper progress? It's not "require" But is really helpful for the rest of us.. For example, at what total daily dose did you begin? (For example, .5, 1 or 2 mg of Klonopin or less or more?). And at what point did you begin your cross to Valium? Are you following thbAshton protocol or some other method? This info would be helpful to know...to me at least! Many thanks, Mana
[jo...]
Hey mana!! Updated the profile, not very accurate in the dates because I have not being following a diary, or taking notes. But I send to you all my energy, and consider the valium crossover...if works for you, you will notice a big difference!!

Guest [Kl...]
I got down to .5mg of K am/pm before I made the switch to Valium. I am now slowing tapering, as you can see from my signature. I tried to tapper directly from K in the past and failed 4 times due to side effects. This tapper I would say is going easier ,even though I am experience some side effects. [my...]
KHM, It sounds like you made a good decision I hope the rest of your taper goes well. FWIW, for now, I plan to continue my direct taper off K but am always open to ideas. Feeling well now...thanks for responding! Mana
