cloneazapam taper

Hey Benzo Buddies, It's been quite sometime since I've been here.  I've been taking 0.5 of cloneazapam daily for 6 years & planning on tapering. I did this a few years ago but the withdraws were horrible & oh boy did I get sick    My doctor said to cut back to half, but isn't that too much to fast? I don't want to go through the same as before, but I did stick it out until I came clean. I felt great for a while but relapsed with really bad anxiety & ended up back on them again. Biggest mistake I ever made & I hate taking them every day. My husband & I are hoping to get pregnant & I know I can't until I'm off these meds. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hey, I've been thinking about it for awhile, but not sure really how to go about it. I did take half of 0.5 yesterday & this morning. I'm already feeling anxious & my brain feels like a fog

From what I've seen of other people on this board, cutting in half is probably too much, too quickly. They usually recommend a 5-10% reduction. Luckily you're starting at a pretty low dosage so you won't have far to go. You might want to consider just cutting 25% rather than 50%. Hopefully that would make the anxiety less.

Thank you so much. I'm taking the dissolving generating ones, which is difficult to break, I may have to go back to the tablets. I know that these go in your system faster, will there be any difference in the withdraw symptoms because they are "fast acting" ones?  When I tapered before I was taking the tablets & I didn't know there were dissolving ones until I moved from Canada to the U.S. Although, they  make me sluggish & tired, I feel they worked better then the tablets.

smallest non-dissolvable in the U.S. seem to be 0.5mg. you can get 4x0.125 dissolvable which do exist, altough I would not cut 25%. you prob want to stay around 10-15% at highest. get an mg scale on amazon and cut the pills on weight (easiest)

Thank you for your reply, yea, I took another quarter just to be safe & it helped a bit. I'm gonna taper slow & easy to try & avoid major side effects. Can't handle that again. I think I'll order a scale to be safe. thank you for all who replied. It's been a great help

Take it slow and easy.  Don't get in a big hurry.

 

It will take however long it will take, to taper down to 0.
