tapering my last pill seroquel

Off the  valium and paxil.

Was on 200mg seroquel for sleep for 2 years.

As of yesturday taking 100mg and the decent to a real life without pills.

anyone who has gotten off this stuff please share your experience.

I made my initial cut from 800 mg to 200 mg fairly uneventful. I did it over a two or three week period. Since it is only sedating at a low dose I slept well for the first time for years. However, when I tried to go anything below that I would go into withdrawal even with only a 10 percent cut.  Over the months I got it down to 75 mg and I am just fine with that dose. Again, it is very sedating. It makes me quite sick to think o that mega dose I was on for over a decade. I found out from a pharmacist about the low dose sedation 12 years into my use. The doctor who prescribed the 800 mg of Serequel  of course is the same doctor that thought stopping 8 mg of Ativan cold turkey after a decade of use was just fine to do. In my opinion withdrawing from serequel is a mini verson of withdrawing from benzos.

Yes, another bad drug. I have diabetes...and this drug causes diabetes. So I have to get off. Fortunatly, I have gone from 200mg to 50 this last week with no issues.

I am withdrawing totally Friday.

And I see the doctor who prescribed all this crap. I wonder what he is going to say when I tell him my problems were the PILLS ?

I agree with benzorcruel.Its a tough withdrawal coming off seroquel!!

I can't wait (NOT) until I have to taper it. I should have never taken it but I had an insane moment of no sleep.
