Diffetence between rescue dose and kindling?

Can one very small (.125mg of ativan or less) for a few days cause kindling?

 

Can just one small dosenofn(.125mg of ativan or less) cause kindling?

 

I ask this because 7 weeks ago after being almost a year clean off benzos i had to taken5 rescue doses over the course of one week. I stopped as quickly as i started because i could go back to sleep no problem. I ended up with a small rash and hypersensitivty to foods but i also took antiobiotics which could have influenced a fragile CNS.

 

Fast forward to a week ago. I started having occasional electric shocks/zaps/pains in my body. This new to me. I have had every benzo wd symptom besides burning and shocks/zaps on my skin.

 

During this last week ive got a ton of stress, smoked a few cigarettes which i shouldnt have after i quit and my Long term girlfriend who ive been living with for 7 months is now moving out. I have been sleeping like crap and feeling overly anxious.

 

These new sxs of constant unrelentless painful shocks in my body keep me awake and get worse when I lay down. I got 3 hrs of sleep in 72 hours and finally gave in and took less than 1/4 of a .5mg pill of ativan at 4am and slept from about 5am-945am this morning.

 

Im havjng shocks in my genitals, face, body etc.

 

Talked to old neuro and he said its probaly anxiety and residual withdrawal. Offered me gabapentin but said since i had a bad reaction to it before to just not take anything and see what happens. Said I need to relax.

 

Then I talked to my new neuro on the phone who has been a neuro for 40 years and told me that I need to see her in person as she cant evaluate me over the phone. She said since i have such an unusual history of sxs and reactions to medicine she doesnt recommend any new medicines. Again she also said gabapentin would be good but doesnt recommend it for me. She said she is surprised i ever had a reaction to it because its one of the safest drugs she has ever prescribed.

Did i kindle? Is this why these awful things are happening? My face is getting zapped. My genitals. Everywhere!!!!  I need help and need sleep. I am so sensitive to sleep deprivation its frightening

 

This is the amount of sleep ive gotten in the last few days

 

Monday Night - 5 1/2 hrs

Tuesday Night - 3 hrs

Wednesday Night - 0!

Thursday - 4.75 hrs (took a low dose of ativan)

I'm so sorry that you are struggling!! I know it sux big time!! From looking at your history/use (on again, off again, taking "rescue doses"). I think it's safe to say that you are experiencing kindling. I too can relate, however, I've not taken "rescue doses". I took my benzo sporatically (1/4 of 0.25 xanax). I know it's pure hell dealing with these crazy sxs but the more you take, the more sxs it causes and the more intense they become.

 

Try a warm shower or a warm washcloth and rub your face. Sometimes it helps me to relax a little. Thanks. I have gone off again and on again but no more than a few months at VERY low doses (.125mg or less) and i took a few of the rescue doses in the last week of March which was over 7 weeks ago.

 

Apparently its the ativan that is doing this all? I find it hard to believe though...

 

I last tapered off klonopin around this time last year. Had a few bad weeks of WD SXS but nothing like this from the ativan. These shocks all over my body are horrendous!!!

 

I actually didnt have much of WD SXS in april or may after the 4-5 days of taking .125mg of ativan.

 

IDK what to do...i need relief...i took less than 1/4 of .5mg ativan pill for sleep around 4am last night and slept from 5am - 945am. Glad to have gotten the sleep but dont wanna keep taking poison that is probably responsible for this all..

 

thinking of switching to kpin on an extremely low does...may 1/16th of a mg to see if it helps with the shocks/zaps

 

Everytime I reinstated, i reinstated long enough for the wd sxs to subside and then tapered off without the original sxs really giving me any problems..

All benzos are bad news! Switching them around isn't going to stop the sxs long term, the benzo is what causes all of these crazy sxs (shocks, zaps, muscle tension, pain, nausea etc. There's well over 100+ sxs). I can honestly say, that I have experienced over100. They wax and wane. They are iintense and very painful.

 

No matter what benzo one takes, they do and will continue to cause sxs. The only way to get well, is to 100% not take another benzo, not even a small smidgen...it will continue to accumulate in your body and brain thus keeping you from healing.

 

I completely understand being desperate for relief, there's thousands of members suffering but we must find other ways (meditation, relaxation etc) to help us without taking those demonic poison pills that got us here in this hell in the first place.

 

I know it's a vicious cycle but the only way out (to complete healing) is to never take another poison pill.
