[bl...]
Im worried because some of the healthy food I just cant tolerate..like fruit...so...im worried incase this means I wont heal. Does everyone eat completely healthy? Hello Shania213! Honestly, from my experience and what I have been told by my sister (she cold turkeyed'd xanax 3 times and fully recovered each time) that it really does not matter whether one eats healthy or not going thru withdrawal and recovery. We are already dealing with the stress that automatically comes along with withdrawing and during recovery, so, the last thing we need to stress over is what we eat. Now, if prior to taking benzo, if one had an allergy to a food, then most definitely one shouldn't eat it. When we are able to eat, we should eat how we did and what we want to eat. She also said that it's not food that triggers sxs, it's the heightened anxiety that we have during this process that causes it, we would have the same reaction anyway no matter what we eat. And will until full recovery. It really does make since. I hope you get relief soon!
[ho...]
Maybe just try your best to have smoothies. Our bodies are depleated from vital nutrients in general. Its nearly impossible to get all we need from food. I use protein shakes then add extra foods to boost it up. I also take a powdered form of supergreens added to the mix. I for one feel better in general. Our bodies were not designed to live on chemicals. So if I cant eat what I need I definately use supplements. Veggies can be used instead of fruit. Get a nutribullet, it polverizes almost anything you put in it. Hope this helps you some!💕😁
[lo...]
Hi Shania I don't eat a particularly healthy diet and I think I am healing at a slow but steady pace. I can't cook because I can't stand for long enough to do that. I eat wheat (bread, cakes, biscuits in moderation) and dairy (milk, yoghurt etc). I don't exclude anything from my diet. I do eat fresh fruit every day and have frozen vegetables so could do better on the vegetables front. However, if I ate more vegetables I could cut out the fruit. I try to eat a decent amount of protein. I have the occasional bar of chocolate. So in a nutshell, I don't think it matters. I have no idea if healthy eating would help speed up the process but I have my doubts. However, I don't have GI issues or food sensitivities so I have been lucky in that respect. I did crave carbs for a few months so I ate carbs. I ate a great deal of fresh fruit for a few months then the desire just went away. So I kind of follow what my body seems to want. Try not to worry. I have started taking a multi vitamin with iron but only about a month ago. I was concerned about lack of Vitamin D, being stuck indoors for so long. [sh...]
Thanks everyone....I definitely have leaky gut. I went to see a podiatrist and he said my skin on my feet and my cracked heels are a sign of nutrients not getting to where its needed and not absorbing properly. I just feel so stuck. I cant tolerate any probiotics. Anything healthy reves me so so badly..I had a few blueberries today and I definitely felt some things getting worse as a result. My neurologist says I will heal over time and that all this will heal up. From her point of view the system just got stressed and needs to heal. It was protein powder and stool softners smoothie when I felt something blow out in my nervous system. since then ive had a setback.... [lo...]
I'm sorry you are having such an awful time, Shania. I guess you can only eat what you can for now. Hugs Fiona
