Anyone know a good doc in Boulder area?

I'm trying to find someone that knows something about benzo withdrawal. Can be a regular GP, psychologist, or psychiatrist. Just looking for someone to help guide us thru this family horror. Any help would be appreciated.

Good luck - I am in Silicon Valley - docs pay lipservice to meds, they turn around and write scripts again - they just can't stop prescribing, it's the easy way out

I think you'll get much better help and support from people on this forum than you are likely to get from the vast majority of healthcare practitioners. Just my opinion.

ugh, that's what I thought was going to be the answer. Why don't they know about this shit? So many people in so much pain.

Tryingtohelpmyson:

Have you heard of the Wholeness Center in Fort Collins?  I am working with one of their nurse practitioners who is helping me taper off klonopin.  She has worked with many patients trying to taper and is knowledgeable and compassionate.  The center combines naturopaths, psychiatrists and many others to practice integrated medicine.  They like to use natural supplements to help their patients and offer other services like:  neurotherapy, acupuncture, nutrition, mental health counseling, etc. and work with children up through adults.  They have patients come there from neighboring states and also offer phone consults, too.  Their website is:

Best wishes!

Thank you for the suggestion. I am considering taking my son to an OCD specialist to possibly help him work thru his DP. I know it's drug induced and therapy may have no affect at all, but I think he needs someone just to talk to. Even if it's just reassurance of getting well again. Just some hope.

Steer clear of a woman by the name Natalie J. Engelbart. She's a fraud that burned her office down here in my area in TX, took the insurance money and ran to Boulder CO area. She did a lot of damage to me. I'm not entirely sure if she's still there or not but she had quite the ring going here. Beware...

I actually just found someone in the Denver area who is highly recommended. It looks like Natalie does have a practice in Boulder so we will sure as hell stay away from her. Thanks for the heads up.

I looked at your drug bio. It's similar to my son's. If you don't mind me asking, how are you doing now? Any better?

All in all, there's a natural way to remedy this, diet and time are key although some of us in here can find something to help keep the suffering at a simmer instead of a rolling boil. I've been studying and living this for the last few years, PM me if you'd like.

To answer your question: I'm 28 months off and still recovering. I'm seeing improvements for sure with diet and fasting, now that I've steered away from offending foods for good (wheat, dairy, sugar and nightshades. Anything processed should be left alone.  8)
