Not wanting to updose Valium

I made a mistake by making too big of a cut on the Valium. From just say 20mg on average a day to 15. Stayed there until I felt was stable and now I'm on day 7 of 14mg. I am getting little sleep as it is catching up with me but I have been able to handle it but uncomfortable. I have a concern. This week(Tuesday) I am due to take my parents on a 2.5 hour trip and stay 3 days away. This is going to be a bit uncomfortable. I am concerned about trying to act like everything is good as they don't know what I'm going thru. Will it ruin my 36 odd days of cut if I had to take an emergency pill if I had to? Would it be better to maybe take a mg of Xanax if I get panic or bad anxiety?( I haven't had Xanax in 2 years July).Would that screw things up for me even worse? I have never taken more than I should have since approx March 26 and hate to throw this out the window.If my mom starts back seat driving I'm liable to lose it and also have very little appetite. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1) A one-off updose should cause no problem.

 

2)  For a short term therapeutic "boost" I would choose the xanax.

Thank you for the advice. Having rough night. On 3.5 hours sleep now and need some rest. I still have 5 mg to take tonight for my 14mg which will help take the edge off. Do you think 50 mg of trazadone could help me sleep? I don't want to be on that every night but hoping it could give me some relief tonight.

So a one off updose is going up one day? Wednesday will be the most stressful.

I've gone through withdrawal a few times and the occasional up-dose didn't effect my progress.
