[Ra...]
Hello, I wondered if anyone else has experienced vision 'spots' or dark coloured 'floaters' in one or both of their eyes after taking benzos? I have these persistent dark spots in my field of vision from my left eye only and it's driving me insane! What sets it apart from the rest of my symptoms is that it doesn't ever improve - there are no windows or waves - just persistent dark spots in my eye. Had it for about 3 months constantly now. I'm concerned it could be unconnected to benzos and will never go away?
[gr...]
Have you gone to an optometrist yet?? Might be worth it to get it checked out!!!
[Ra...]
I had an eye test recently and mentioned about the 'floaters' - they couldn't see anything untoward on the images they took or when they looked in my eyes. Interestingly I did have a prescription for the first time in my life and had to start wearing glasses so my vision is deteriorating generally but I don't think that is linked to these black spots in my left eye. I know benzos can cause problems with the field of vision so really wanted to know if anyone else here has experienced something similar? Having already had en eye test I'm not sure where to turn next?
[Ne...]
Razor, I've had these dark spots floating across my eyes for over a year. They happened shortly after I started my taper. I went to the optometrist and they looked in my eyes with a machine that can see the back of the eye to make sure there is no detached retina. The doc said I had some condition (can't remember with this benzo brain ) but it happens as we age and is not serious. The floaters are almost always there, some larger spots, some tiny dots. The doc said you just learn to ignore them. Get it checked out if you are worried. I do think it is a symptom of benzo withdrawal. [Bu...]
Yes, I get these all the time now that I am getting low on my taper. My eyes have also become a lot more sensitive to light and I wear orange (blue light blocking glasses) to work on the computer. Never had this before tapering-seems it's another benzo related issue. Hope it goes away off the drug. Take care!
[Ra...]
Thanks so much for your replies New Girl and BurnedOut Glad to know there are some people out there who know what I'm talking about, although sorry you are both also suffering from this! It began for me when I started to taper, never had anything like it before. I really hope that when I'm off the drugs altogether it will eventually go away, not sure I can live with this for the rest of my life Odd that it's only in one eye though, if it gets much worse I'm going to have to get an eye patch! I also get a horrible 'pressure' pain feeling from right behind my eyes some days, feels like it could be sinus related?
[jm...]
I also have this big time, it is one of my most persistent remaining symptoms. Mainly in the left eye, and really accelerated by bright lights. If I look at a white wall or the sky I can see tons of spots, swirls, and floaters. I read that GABA plays a large role in retina function. Even though it really sucks, I am confident that in time this will go away.
[Bl...]
Yes, it is from benzo withdrawal and it will go away. My vision improved and my floaters went away at about 4 months after my jump.
