[Ta...]
More questions - SORRY!!! I'm only 29 days since my last benzo and I know it's only early days for me. My question today is do others wake up feeling like they have been hit by a truck with nausea from the pit of their stomach and a horrible taste in their mouth? I'm trying to see and count each day as a victory but it's just so hard. This site gives me the strength to hang on and welcome the good days. Keep up the great work everyone. We will be rewarded soon. :smitten: :smitten:
[ro...]
Yes, I wake up feeling like I have been hit by 3 trucks, I feel nauseous plus have burning all down my back and in my arms. I'm about the same (5-6 weeks) into my benzo w/d as you. I find this site helpful as it shows what others are going through and we are not alone. Noone, but no one (family , friends, doctors) understand benzo w/d. Good luck with your journey from another benzobuddie :-)
[ra...]
Tallow - It is perfectly NORMAL sxs and will settle down in time - I found the best way to cope was to take it one day at a time, as I had it like you. But sadly no one can say how how long or short our journey may be as some heal a lot quicker than others - but we do heal.
[Ta...]
Hi Rochan and Racksha. Thanks for your reply. It sure is a hard journey but we have to stay strong and believe that things are going to get better. Rochan you are just a little bit ahead of me so I feel your pain at the moment. Racksha I read that you were on a low dose of valium for 20 months. How much were you actually taking before withdrawl? Have you improved at all since you stopped your valium? Best wishes to you both. You are in my loving thoughts. :smitten:
[ra...]
Tallow - I took 4mg for the first 9 months then just 2mg for 11 months and reduced over a 3 week period before jumping. There have been many improvements of earlier sx, but lots of new and old still ongoing to the point of my remaining semi bedridden. Having a heart attack 9 months ago did set me back for a while, but was easier to deal with than the wd. Over the past months, although mornings and most of days still pretty bad, thankfully, I have been having some respite most evenings when sx go down for a few hours and I feel more human. [Ta...]
Hi Racksha. I'm so sorry your still having such a hard time. Night time must be such a blessing for you. I hope it starts to continue into your day soon. I was taking 4mg as well but I didn't take it every day. I could sometimes go weeks without it. I should have woke up a year ago when 4mg didn't help on really bad days. ( I must have built tolerance to it) I was told by one doctor that I was taking such a low dose that it wouldn't have even touched the sides. I was then prescribed 1mg of Ativan for the horrible days and when it didn't work a couple of weeks ago alarm bells went off. Once again I was only taking it sparingly. It appears that you were only on a low dose as well but it just goes to prove how powerful this poison is. I hope you have someone to help you out during the day. Stay strong and positive. Hugs and more hugs. :smitten:
[ra...]
Tallow - My doc said the same re a low dosage - said I would have 'No problem'. - WHAAAAAAGH. Am glad to be getting the night respite - Hoping it soon spreads into the days as I so want to be able to get out of the house and rejoin the human race in the great outdoors. Please don't worry when you read the signatures of those of us who are protracted as we are all individuals and many folk heal much quicker. Thanks for the hugs - Sending you lots back
