Muscle soreness is really common.  Some light stretching may help.  Watch that you're not unconsciously clenching your muscles (that's also common and can bring on soreness).

In the middle of my taper I had weak knees..even used a cane for awhile.  That issue is gone, but the last two days I've had achey legs.  My knees feel like they need oiling, only I can walk ok.  Sometimes they feel heavy too.  I'm in a pretty bad wave now depending on what time of day it is.  So I think this is just apart of it.  Sometimes if I walk alot my legs will ache.  Walking more would probably be a good thing in my case.  Hope this resolves for you soon.

God bless,

Yes I have had this too with burning and Paresthesia to boot. It kept me from doing any kind of exercise for many many months last year. I found it was mostly in my left leg , left side. As im off Xanax and Ambien now its decreasing. But it does still come back unfortunately. Epsom salt hot baths and Tiger Balm have helped me.

Mine is so,left side too, annoying! Supposed to be something about emotions but I can't get clear idea.

You waited to stop ambien after Xanax also? Most people are telling me that is the way to go. It does maybe keep me asleep but so unnerving to feel the leg twitching while sedated like that!

Hi butterfly

Yes I read somewhere that its to do with feelings and emotions too. Left sided sensation/symptoms.  Seemingly a good few BBs have left side symptoms,  I have read that too. I can't remember which BBs have described it though ?.

I decided to taper Ambien after ct Xanax . I read that Ambien side effect was one of backpain and a light bulb switch came on for me....I said to myself 'maybe its the Ambien that is also contributing to my horrendous back and leg pain??' ...... Sure enough when I did start to taper off it , the pain did definitely lessen. It has never gone away and often still hits me hard . Along with the other symptoms.

Yes it is horrible to feel so sedated and out of it and have this twitching continue ? You are still on Ambien are you?

Yes, had a LOT of inner vibrations in my legs which faded and stopped for a couple of months and yet now legs are aching badly and burning muscles feeling, vibrations started up again today... legs feel very achey and stiff from too much sedentary existing, it worries me as I can't walk that far still and it sometimes feels like I have MS or something serious... feels like my legs muscles are wasting away sometimes.

I totally know what ya mean.  I have muscle aches, spasms and weakness in my legs.  Sometimes I feel like I can't walk 20 feet if I needed to.  It's really a bother but I am sure it's benzo related.  I would feel safe saying yours is also.  Just know it will get better and keep fighting

Yes I am still on since I am only half way off klonopin. My back an skews have gotten so much worse but I keep mild exercise up regardless. They feel so much worse if I sit still. I don't care if I have to pace my house very slowly all day I will do it?

On brighter note, made it to my adaptive yoga class this morning and my legs were twitching like mad but half way through they felt great!

I even took a moderately long walk this afternoon, been trying to do so almost everyday even on my worst days but my husband goes with so I am not so nervous about balance.

So good to see that you can get out for some walks with your husband. It will really help in the longrun. That and the Yoga - even if you are twitching.  I often would go to Pilates and twitch just like that..... sure what can we do.  :D:smitten:

Huh, thought that I replied to this last night.

Yes still on ambien since half way through klonopin taper. It does keep me asleep some days, I cant tell always since I wake so much!

When did you start sleeping after ambien was done?

I would really like my back to hurt less but I was also in several car accidents and slipped on ice once.

After about a week , my sleep got better . But mostly the drugged out feeling I had left pretty much when I even started tapering Ambien. There are some nights when my sleep is not great but all in all it is lot better for being off it.

Sorry to hear about your car accidents and falls. Hopefully Yoga will help.  :smitten:

My legs are really, really bad right now.

I either need to get walking or stop walking altogether... seems walking really aggravates the problem but maybe it's necessary.

Today my left leg felt weak when I was walking in the town center... luckily I had my fold away cane in my shopping bag.  After we got home, my leg just ached and then felt cold.  What is the cold feeling about?  It did go away, but it was odd.  Usually I have burning, but not the cold.  Anyone have this?  Don't mean to hijack your thread Tim, but thought I'd ask..  :)

I am in bed with two heavy duvet covers on my legs with a hot water bottle against them and it is really helping with the pain... I must try walking every day from now on though, at least to try and get them fit again... but if it causes more and more pain then I will have to see a doc... I want to walk again so badly.

I get the freezing below the knee and in my feet. It warmes up a bit whilst walking but then completely freezes minutes after when I stop exercising. I just wear layers of socks . And a hot water bottle really helps. I have to limit my exercise too. Somedays are better now though.  It does get better. I have read this on BB.

Much healing to you

I'm sorry others are going through this... :-[  but it is reassuring to know you're not the only one.  It's odd how exercise can cause the aching and cold feeling.  And why only on my left leg (for the most part) is odd too.  I remember when I first began tapering my left leg and foot would get really cold, while the other leg and foot would feel normal.  I had to put thick warm socks on too, and it helped so much.  In the mornings everything feels pretty normal.  Only after excersise, and I never equated it much before.  I've felt so bad from the wave I've been under that I've been pretty sedentary.  I go out and walk and I get the tired, achey legs, and cold sensation.  I pray we all get past this misery soon.

God bless...
