Switching from 2 mg clonazepam to lorazepam, question

Another attempt ...

I've been using the clonazepam with great difficulty. Hard to tolerate.

I know it sounds crazy, but I'll try a direct switch to lorazepam (no crossover), followed by a taper of weeks/months.

It's a long story, diazepam is hard to tolerate.

The doc suggested taking the dose twice daily. I wonder if I'm not going to encounter interdose-withdrawal.

Any ideas ? Two or three times a day ?

I figured it was worth a try.

I was switched from klonopin to lorazepam (1 mg k to 2 mg L).  I did it as a direct switch (no x-over).  I took it for sleep, so only took it in the evening.  It has a pretty short half-life, so you may want to dose 2-3 times a day depending on your underlying condition for taking it.  The good news is that multiple doses gives you some flexibility in when you make your cuts.

Not many people go from long acting to short.  But I wonder if you do not do a gradual cross if the opposite problem will occur and you will end up with too much benzo for a while until the K leaves.  And is this something to be concerned about.
