trazodone withdrawal

I have been taking a low does of trazodone at bedtime for many months. It was never a consistent help with sleep. I am now on xanax. I want to get off the trazodone. I've been cutting it very very slowly. I'm down to 20 mg at bedtime. I wonder if it meeds to be tapered as slowly as a benzo. Has anyone tapered off trazodone? Thanks.

Why would you say that it is causing rebound insomnia? From the cuts or just the plain old drug? Bets

I took Trazadone for sleep for a few months every night.  When I decided to stop I just stopped and had no issues.  I did not have any problems with insomnia.

Yes, I plan to taper the xanax, but want to get off the trazodone first. It never worked well for me.

That's good to hear. I plan to make another 10% cut tonight. I would like to do them more often and get this over with!

I see you tapered off of Xanax without switching to a different benzo. That is very encouraging!

When I stopped trazadone I had a hard time sleeping for a while after because that is what I was using it for.  Just my experience.  Not everyone is the same.

I took trazadone for sleep for about 6 months after my first withdrawal. It helped little with sleep, but when it did I was in a haze in the morning for about a half an hour. I decided to stop it. I did not taper it and had no ill effects in doing so. I was taking 100 mg.

I stopped all the AD's including Trazadone CT- no problem ( unless I mistook any sc as benzo SX)
