why have my symptoms stopped??

Ok this is good in a sense. I have been holding a dose of 8mg now for around 2 and a half weeks. Initially was getting withdrawal symptoms fairly strongly - headaches, tremor, anxiety, tingling, flu feeling, blurred vision, sweating. Now it has stopped in the last few days. What has happened? Is this good? I am due to drop down 0.5mg tonight, so here goes. Does this mean the withdrawal will start all over again? I'm not sure what to expect, so go with the flow? Any thoughts appreciated please.

For me, each cut has been associated with varying levels of similar symptoms. But each one has hit pretty hard.

When I'm going through them, it seems like nothing could be worse.

I seem to totally forget that 3-7 days after the previous cut they begin, and I felt the same for over a week then stabilized. Recognizable pattern for me.

I have had very few symptoms since starting a rather rapid withdrawal at the beginning of January.  The symptoms start after a cut then diminish.  Personally, this gives me strength.  I know what to expect when I do another cut and remind myself I made it through.  If you feel ready, do another cut and prepare for possible symptoms.

The tricky thing with valium is the long half life.  I tried the cross over method last year and failed, then suddenly had the problem of being on valium and clonazepam.  I tapered off valium rather quickly and it sucked.  I was in a bit of a crisis situation where I had to leave the state so I think some of that adrenaline and determination helped keep my mind focused on what I had to do.

Definitely follow your body's wisdom.

Thanks now it is starting to make sense. So staying on a dose for a period of time allows for stabilising on dose before dropping down again. You get withdrawal at next cut, hold then stabilise then cut again. I hope that is right? Thank you

If you're luck that's what happens. If you're not, no stabilisation occurs and it's just a case of carrying on tapering until it's done!
