Hi all, I'm B, I've been on Xanax for over 4 years after the death of my parents 4 months apart. I started slow but went way up after my mom passed just after my dad until I was on 20-25mgs a day, I'm down to 8 mgs a day now but feel like I'm dying so I found this site for any help, support I can get, thank you!

Hi Bigb61

Welcome to benzobuddies,  so very sorry for the loss of your parents, so sad.  It must have been a very traumatic time for you, I know you will get plenty of support here. Sorry your struggling with symptoms it will get better

Have you read the Ashton Manual, I will put a link here for you: “Professor Ashtons Manual” It is an authoritative resource on benzodiazepines and how to withdraw, the general rule of thumb is to reduce between 5/10% every 10/14 days

Please feel free to check out the forum and post to any of the dedicated boards, you'll find a great community of people who are here to support and encourage you.

Well done on your taper so far.  For tapering advice General Taper Plans Board  For support with any symptoms you may have post here: Withdrawal Support

If you would be so kind as to add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice this link will show you how to”Create a signature”

Welcome Aboard

Hi Bigb61,

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry you find yourself needing to be here but you have found a safe place to share and learn about becoming benzo-free.

Dr.Heather Ashton is considered an expert in the field of benzodiazepine withdrawal and if you

haven't already done so, you might like to familiarize yourself with the The Ashton Manual

You may also want to introduce yourself on the Xanax Support Blog

Please take some time to Create a Signature. This will help other members understand you history so they will be better able to support you.

Go to the top of the page and select Profile, then choose Forum Profile, insert drug history/timelines into the text box and click Change Profile.

Take Care, Kiddo
