Heavy Limbs

[ma...]

Recommended Posts

I'm 16 mos. out from Xanax.  I wake every morning with the muscles in my arms and legs hurting.  Sometimes it will alternate from my arms to my legs.  Then when I get up I can hardly support myself my legs are so heavy, and still have the pain. This symptom is getting worse it seems, and I'm so weak.  Just getting dressed in the mornings is a challenge.  I still have the disequilibrium, stomach pain, sinus pain, which triggers a migraine quite frequently. My blood pressure stays on the low side, around the high 90's to low 60's.  I'm getting so discouraged.

Does anyone else suffer from the heavy limbs this far out?  Never any windows.

Hi Mama 2,

I am thirteen months from my last benzo (Klonopin) and I still experience heaviness in my limbs. It is not consistent, but is still fairly frequent. Sometimes, it is a challenge to climb the one flight of stairs in my house. I have tried to explain this to doctors as well as family members and I generally get blank stares in response.  When I am having a good day, I force myself to exercise (at least 30 minutes of walking or using my elliptical). Occasionally, this helps and my limbs actually feel lighter afterwards. :) I read something Matt Samet  wrote about having "cement limbs" as a symptom. It made me feel a little better that this will resolve. Best of luck to you in this crazy journey!

When was the last time you had your B12 / Vitamin D checked ?

How often do you exercise ? Your body is like a car, if you park it too long it's going to seize up, get stiff. An hour of walking each day is very important. You can implement other exercises as you see fit as well.

I went from stuck in the bed so bad that I would actually crawl to my bathroom because my body couldn't get up, too working out every other day for 2 hours, slamming vegetables and adding supplements to keep optimal levels.

Long story short, I'd advise you to try exercise each day for the rest of your life and having your vitamin levels checked! It might just be the answer !!!

I did just recently have my vitamin levels checked.  Everything was normal.  I even brought my D up from 30 to the 60's.  I try not to be sedentary all day.  I have to do things in short intervals and then sit and rest, then up and do what I can again.
