Valium tapering - Feelings

Hi. I wonder if anbody else has had these thoughts. Is it possible to feel increased withdrawal symptoms due to thinking too much about them. I have felt that i in some situations have had increased anxiety just because i have expected it in advance.

Any thoughts on this.

I don't want to minimize anybodys problems as they are surely real.

Thinking about symptoms non stop does cause symptoms. Ruminating thoughts often are accompanied by anxiety. Certain situations can also cause increased anxiety. On the other hand, during the duration of distraction we are not thinking about our symptoms. Distraction is what got me through my withdrawal.

Idk- my SX are damn real to me - for instance when one goes away I know- I no longer have bladder pain- cortosal is better- fatigue is better- depression is gone! Benzo belly is so so- I don't dwell but I do notice.

Feelings are intense now- everything is almost too bright- emotions raw~I was watching a movie last  night with violence - I was appalled and worried I would not shake the feelings it produced in me

Go back 3 months-I watched every episode of Criminal Minds on Netflix and did not flinch at the violence-

guess I am waking up from the drug I think - being able to feel stuff is new - strange- but hopeful

Who will we be when this is over?

Is this even on topic-    :D

I think we can sometimes "talk" ourselves into having some symptoms. Of course I am totally aware that most of our symptoms are very real. I just think that sometimes if we expect something to happen, it might just happen.

As benzos-R-cruel above said, sometimes distraction does help too. I know there were times when I'd had a really bad night, and I'd be laying in bad wanting the world to just disappear. If I'd stayed in bed I probably would have felt that way for the rest of the day, but if I got up and actually started doing things, quite often I would start to feel better - not on top of the world mind you, but better.

Depends on your individual personality. For me, definitely. I was told I was 'doing a great job' yesterday by someone on the board, and that they were amazed I was going 'so fast' and how they got extreme anxiety when they did that. I then experienced 4 hours of high anxiety worrying that I was going too fast and the crack up was inevitable.

What cured it? Duties and distraction, just like DP said. I HAD to help my son with his homework and then HAD to drive him to his lax game. Once there, I just talked my brains out with people and by the time I got home at 10:30, I was much more relaxed.

But, yes, I think some of us are easily suggestible to the "mood" sx.
