Is it a Tolerance? How should I cut my dose?

Hi.

I hope this is not an ignorance question.

 

I uptake my dose from 0.5 to 0.5 x 2 xanax a day due recurrence panic attack. Actually this is my initial dose.

it has been more than a week. My withdrawal symptoms is getting better but I develop a muscle weakness that persist, also some lightheadness wich getting worse at the noon that require me to sleep.

 

My anxiety now come sooner before taking the meds. I wonder if this is a sort of tolerance of benzo? My dr plan to taper my xanax next week to 0.5 mg at morning and 0.25 at night. But I am afraid that 0.25 at night will be too fast, so I am planning to start cut my night dose tonight to 0.4.

 

Do I am facing a tolerance at this point? Can anyine help me to plan my taper.

If you are getting a rise in anxiety shortly before your dose is due then it's possible that you are experiencing inter-dose withdrawal.  If it is inter-dose withdrawal then it may be an idea to consider taking 3 doses approx 8 hours apart.

I take it 0.5mg in the morning, then 0.5 mg at night.

You need to choose a way which suits you.  There are pros and cons.  There are many posts here about how people work out how to measure a small dose which you may want to browse.
