Help me know if I'm going to fast, please!

I started tapering from 6 mgs of Ativan on September 3, 2014 and I'm down to 2.8 mgs.  I'm going crazy.  I cut daily by .002 grams.  This month the cut is equivalent to around 6.7 mgs of Valium.  Do I need to slow down? 

 

The depression, fear, memory loss, head pressure and interdose withdrawals are insane.  Please help me.

I am confused. I thought a daily taper was supposed to be slower. But people who do just a cut and hold V taper usually do a .25, .5, 1 or at the most 2 mgs in a month....never almost 7mgs!! I have never seen a V taper of almost 7 mgs in a month....no wonder you feel awful. I think you are doing something wrong, no way should a daily taper be that extreme?? I know nothing of V though so hopefully someone will come along and comment. Something seems terribly off with your taper rate.

Dear snow4fun,

Hang on -- DO NOT go down any more and wait for some answers from the moderators who have been through this....I agree that it is way too fast and perhaps complicated by your history as detailed in your signature.  You should NOT have to suffer like this...who is your doctor?  I would make a call to him/her ASAP and ask for help with your symptoms.  Between that and the help you will certainly receive on this forum, I know that very soon you will feel better...until then, breathe.....and have the faith you seem to be filled with.
