How long does acute usually last?

I had my last dose on the same day as you and started feeling a lot better on the 30th of December. So I would say I'm out of acute. You're probably not fare behind ;)

Mine lasted a little over 6 weeks as well. I'm still in the stage where half the time, I feel almost normal. The other half, ugh.

Is subjective: it also depends on what you mean by acute or being sick.

There are those who bear better and who is not.

Personally a few days, but never very bad ...

It was 4 months for me. Not at 14.5 months out I'm having acute again but worse! I'm hoping it's only gonna be 4 months again lol.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm not sure I am in acute anymore. I only feel that way when the symptoms are bad, but I am having good days here and there. Seems like everyday it is something else and some things are coming back that I had before taking the benzo. Like anxiety and shaking when trying to fall asleep. I wish this one would move on. Almost feels like a low blood sugar drop but when I get fully awake, it goes away. I guess we will all keep plugging along.

I'm 8 weeks and 4 days off. Some days are good. But it's weird, when I first got off it, that first week, I felt great. Almost normal.

Of course , I didn't trust it would last, and since then it's been good days and some bad, but last night was really bad. It was the start of a new month and I got hit with the panic and fear and weird thoughts too, all day.Stressed too. Also felt a weird 'craving' like inter-dose withdrawal craving? I only got that back during my taper when I would drop a dose. I would get that feeling of 'missing' the dose. It would last 4 days or so,,then fade.

But out of the blue 2 months after my jump, I got that feeling again.

It was scary.

I guess this is all 'acute'..I don't know.

I tapered VERY slow and long so as to ease my life when finally off it.

I didn't jump at .0625..I cut to .0312..and held that for 3 weeks, then cut to half of that, even, to .0150! I held that for 3 weeks..

I really dragged it out AND I was sick all the time, everyday.

I actually felt better when I finally did jump.

But now , 2 months in,I feel blah not so hot..

I guess this is acute still..

When will it end???

My opinion on when acute ends is when it stops being so scary and you get a but if your life back. Even though I'm probably out of acute, being that I can sleep and no longer vomit, I would still say I'm in acute (Even though I have good windows) because my symptoms are still rather severe and persistent.

It's weird... it seems to be different for everyone.  Looking at the period occurring directly upon or after the last dose, my acute lasted approx. 2.5 mos.

Now, six months out, I feel very much in an acute-like phase once again, with some earlier symptoms gone, but new symptoms added to the sh*t-bag of persistent symptoms.

None of this experience is definitive.  Such a mystery.
