Severe Adrenaline surges !!

Hey

I'm getting terrible adrenaline surges especially at night.. I sleep for maybe 3-4 hrs then wake up feel reasonably calm for 20-30 mins then bang it starts in my chest and within ten mins I'm buzzing like a electricity pylon.. Sleep after that is impossible. Sleep has always been a issue for me and I have always worried about sleep so this is stressing me so much. Does anyone have any distraction advise, Iv been told propranaol may help but I don't know.

I get these two...sometimes the cortisol/adrenaline surges can last for a couple of hours.  It feels like I am on a roller coaster.  I have not tried propranolol but am also interested to know if it has helped others.

Propanolol is a beta blocker.  It would probably help you sleep as it has a sedative effect, and it will calm your heartbeat, BUT it is also not something you should take long-term and is addictive (in that you must taper off it if you've been on it a long time).

Better to deal with your adrenal issues instead of masking the symptoms with an inappropriate drug, in my opinion.
