Hi Buddies

I don't think I can carry on. You have probably read my posts about my original fear of electricity returning since withdrawal.

It is unbearable now and I cannot cope.

lots of buddies have told me that the original fear can come back worse during the withdrawal period and have been told Ashton mentions this in her manual but this is through the roof compared to pre benzo.

This can't be normal surely.

I need hope from my buddies

Ginging, you gotta do what's best for you. If you feel the new to reinstate because the symptoms are too much, do it with the guidance of a doctor.

Otherwise, we are here for you. You literally just have to take it day by day. I'm sitting here right now afraid I'm not breathing correctly. But I don't want a life of psyche drugs.

If the anxiety is too much, you could also pursue other avenues for drugs. Or even different types of therapy. Try 'em all! But you are also in acute when the symptoms are at the worst. I'm only 4.5 months off and I have seen improvements. Just none in the areas I would like. But that will come. So will yours. :) Hang in there.

Hi Orion

Thanks for responding. I can't reinstate because I am tolerant to benzos. I have tried all the antidepressants, antipsychotics, buspirone etc. Nothing helps.

I didn't have this fear until I started withdrawing from the diazepam 14 weeks ago.

I don't know what to do Orion.

ginging,

Remeron/Mirtazapine is a poor antidepressant, but a pretty good sleep inducer and anti-anxiety.  I was thinking about using it for anti-anxiety, but I do not want to waste the 6 hours of sleep it gives me.

If you have a pdoc, maybe discuss it with him.

Be well and good luck,

Orion is giving you good advice, Gingging.

You're in that acute benzo withdrawal phase that is brutal. And you've got a phobia that keeps you from being able to use a computer or a tv for distraction.

What other things are you able to do? Are you able to go for a walk? Read? Listen to music?

I know this is really hard when your body and brain are surging with anxiety. But over time, the adrenaline and cortisol surges will die down.

Hi Mindseeker

I guess I'm just struggling to believe that the original fear can return at such a severe level. Does Ashton mean this bad?

Hi Mindseeker

I guess I'm just struggling to believe that the original fear can return at such a severe level. Does Ashton mean this bad?

Unfortunately, yes. But it is temporary. That's why finding a way to distract is so very important.

I've learned to distract even during severe episodes of hallucinations.

I know it's rough, but please know that the severity of what you're going through is temporary.

And once you master the art of distraction, this is a skill you'll bring with you after the war of benzo withdrawal. It will make you a kind of super hero and able to survive more than you can ever imagine right now.

This is a guided meditation that a fellow buddy sent to me when I was suffering from brutal visual hallucinations. I hope it helps you. I've played it over and over again, both on my laptop and on my phone.

I'm a huge Mooji fan now because I relate his voice to being able to calm down during the worst of my withdrawal. Now it only takes a couple of minutes of listening to him and my mind, body, and soul just relax.

And this calmness comes over me.

You'll get to the other side, Gingging. Hang in there.

Hugs.

Thanks mindseeker you are very patient with me.

I had many members who were patient with me when I was going through the acute phase.

And several of those members are now out enjoying their lives again.

That's how I know this is all temporary. It's going to be okay.

Ginging,

I did not realize how recently you jumped.  I am not a doctor and not giving medical advice, but I would only try Remeron after the acute phase is over.

Be well and good luck,

GingGing, it took me almost 4 months to taper from about 7.5mg diazepam and I still got quite severe withdrawal symptoms when I jumped. Since you stopped c/t from that, I definitely think you are still in acute.

My original sxs got much worse in acute - I had gone to A&E, taken rescue doses, thought I would reinstate etc, but now things are starting to get easier. It helped to keep reading this group and see that I'm not alone, otherwise I would not have realised withdrawal could be like this.

Please keep going. It will not always be this bad.

Thanks so much R

I was on 30mg diazepam but my doc told me to just stop taking when I reached the 7.5mg. Thanks for the hope. I really appreciate it xx
