Hi, KickinIt. You may wish to get checked out by a doctor. I'm not sure that all your symptoms are withdrawal and even if they are, not eating in 4 days is serious.

Are you able to drink so you don't get dehydrated?

Hi , I had everything you are describing and worse, lived on air and water for a few weeks.

sounds like Benzo detox and yes, its quite normal.

sounds like detox to me, acute....it might last for a few weeks and get better.

by all means you may want to get it checked......but i am sure they won't find anything wrong,

its ever so awful...i hope it will pass soon for you. :)

Please make sure you are keeping hydrated....with 60 plus ounces of fluid each day. I went through a similar period in my first withdrawal, and got pretty sick from not eating for day. My doctor had me drink ENSURE PLUS during that period. The mind can do some pretty bad things when deprived of food.

Let us know what you find out. I hope it's just withdrawal and passes quickly for you.

Ginger tea should help. My wife is Korean and that's their go to medicine for digestion problems. I luckily didn't have any digestion problems, but I certainly had problems with swallowing. Maybe you could do broth soup too if you are still having problems digesting. I've read a few people on here that had really bad problems eating for a while too. If it's w/d it will sort out at some point. Definitely stay hydrated and make sure you have some kind of nourishment. It'll will help you recover more quickly. I drank about 4 – 6 quarts of water a day for the first three months off and took at least a 1000 mg of vitamin c to try and keep from getting sick. Salads are also some thing that can be easy to eat if you are having a hard time keeping anything down. Hope it clears up soon for you.

When I couldn't eat due to nausea, my pdoc gave me an anti nausea med and it helped a lot. Lucky for me, it only lasted one week and then I stopped taking those pills. Like everyone else said here, drinks lots and lots of fluids. :smitten: Bets

I was drinking organic butternut squash soup and organic chicken broth after withdrawal.  Has some nutrition and didn't upset the already horrific pains in the abdominal area.

Sweet pea

Just got home from appt. with nurse practitioner. She agrees that my tummy issues are probably withdrawal. She told me to take Zantac and prescribed Bentyl for the cramps. (I asked for this. Its an IBS drug I took years ago.) She didnt know what to make of the hives and itchy palms. Anyway, Im starting with Gatorade and then maybe some bread later. Thanks guys.

I'm glad that's what it is and will pass in time. Try to eat a little bit at a time and keep up your strength.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

Maybe try some fruit, I know I could eat a mango or some watermelon over some pasta.

Hopefully you can eat soon to build your strength up.

all the best

Kickin

I hope your stomach has improved since getting help from your doctor but my stomach was always a nervous one so I too suffer from withdrawal symptoms that hurt my stomach/gut with awful pain and sickness and I too cannot eat but it is temporary. 4 days was the worst. I have been well for 2 weeks after really bad sickness but when I am sick, I try to eat dry toast, porridge, plain pasta, cous cous, rice - anything that is bland and easy on the stomach. Ginger tea and lemon are great and I find hot milk is soothing when tea is just too strong. Just eat what you can and keep drinking - hot water is as good as a cup of tea when sick. Just keep warm and comfortable.

When you are well, you might think of Kefir as it is good bacteria for the stomach and helps but not everyone likes it. I make my own but you can buy it too.

All the best, Moya x
