Still scared

Seems like I'm having trouble finding a balance between withdrawal and baseline. I have to slow it down, the anxiety of withdrawal keeps telling me I need to hurry it up and get it over with. I have to remember it doesn't work that way.

Even when it's a short road, cheeker, it's a long road. In comparison to others on higher doses, my road appears shorter, but it hasn't felt that way to me. You're on a lower dose than some, but still at 1.55mg it's one rung at a time (and I have a fear of heights!) ;)  Just keep climbing. Are you following Grinch's progress. She made a taper schedule ahead. I did too and ended up prolonging it twice. Do what you're comfortable with. I expected what you expected, that I'd fight my way through a taper, then reach a plateau of some sort of comfortable functionality and then proceed downward. It didn't always work like that. One cut felt good, another did not. Yesterday I had worse symptoms than I'd had all week, but I decided to jump anyway. I would NOT suggest you jump at 1.55mg, but try telling yourself:  "These are just crazy symptoms, real as they are, I won't let them stop me. I can still walk, talk, think."  And just keep moving. We do have to figure out how to manage our anxiety/phobias/fears without benzos, so let's practice.

You are right, it does not work that way. This is no race!

Hi Needs! Congratulations for your jumping off of benzos!!! Wish you all the best in your recovery!

Cheeker, I also needed to slow down, thus I decreased the percentage cut. I am sure you are going to feel better! :smitten:

Ditto with the others, Cheeker.

I cut by 5% every two weeks until I got down to .83 mg. Now I am plan to hold a little bit longer and drop by 4% from now on. The last mg seems to be the hardest. When I was on 10 mg, I could have easily cut by 10% but chose not to do so. I didn't want it kicking me in the arse later down the road. Bets
