Question about withdrawal severity

[Ja...]

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am currently on week 5 of a 24 week taper.

I am taking .5mg of Clonazepam twice a day and .125mg (half of a .25 mg tablet) of Xanax 3 times per day. I'm using a Gemini scale to weigh my pills and assist with cutting them down and I reduce my dose every 2 weeks and track progress in a spreadsheet.

My question is this..

Do withdrawal symptoms get easier as you go along? Like do they lessen in severity the further along you are in your taper because you have less of the medication in your system? Is week 20 going to be easier than week 5? Or are the withdrawal symptoms pretty steady throughout?

Thank you for reading.

Of course, everyone is different. For me, side effects -- particularly the insomnia -- increased as I got into the lower doses. And I think that's pretty common. However, the further you go in your taper, the more used to the side effects you get, so in that sense it gets easier as your knowledge and coping skills increase.

Same as Shirah, in my case w/d sx got worse after I went down to 0.75 mg...but today having a very nice window! there are people with no symthoms at all, or their symthoms decrease as their doses are decreased. In my case everyday is unpredictable... :)
