How does race factor in with psychiatric med reactions / withdrawals?

I've just been thinking if there were ever any studies done or even a non-scientific poll done here to see how race is a factor in psychiatric medication reactions / withdrawals.  I'm a male caucasian.  From speaking to friends who have taken these meds, I know that other male and female caucasians have had the most trouble with these meds.  My non-caucasian friends who have taken psychiatric medications have had less trouble with side effects and have had less trouble coming off of them completely and claim no permanent damage has been done.  What are your thoughts on this?

It's interesting for sure, I know 5 - 10% of caucasians are poor metabolizes of drugs that are metabolized by CYP2D6, it doesn't effect races the same. But that has nothing to do with benzos, and affects how anti-depressants and many other drugs affect people. It seems plausible that withdrawal could be different amongst ethnic groups, there is so much that is unknown yet.
