It could be. I had an allergic reaction from the first seroquel pill I took, so I don't know about that specifically, but the Latuda I am on is an antipsychotic similar to it with a major side effect of tardive dyskinesia. My jaw moves involuntarily and my legs shake and twitch really badly. I really want to get off of it for that reason.

The good news is the less time you are on the antipsychotic, the less the TD will affect you. But the longer you take it, the more sever the TD and more long-lasting it can be.

Whelp. Sitting around here isn't gonna do ya much good. Either taper off that under the guidance of your doctor or get yourself inpatient. Now! The longer you wait, the worse it could get.

Um, YES! Dude. If it is TD you could end up with way worse than teeth chattering. I don't know why you haven't gone yet. I'm baffled. Do you want a PERMANENT movement disorder???

Six months is a while... If you go to an ER they might give you something to calm your muscles, and they might take you off the seroquel cold turkey. You should probably taper it down though, it is an antipsychotic so its had some effect on your brain. Whatever you decide to do I hope you are well.

Let us know what he says. I would think this is too low a dose and for too short of a time, but if it is, you need to start a taper.

I've had involuntary jaw movements off and on, but only during waves so I'm thinking it's benzo withdrawal because other members have noted similar s/x and they weren't on AP's.

Best to get this checked out.

Doc said it was nerves. Not sure how he can diagnose me over the phone. Didn't think I had been on long enough at a sufficient enough dose. Pray he's right.

Did he say anything about starting a taper? I know how badly you want off this drug.

Mind. How did you cut down from 100mg. How long did it take.  Did you have any symptoms.

I've been tracking it in my progress log for a few months, but I'd already reduced it down to 6.25 by then. And then upped it and then reduced and so on and so forth. I've been at 6.25 for quite a while and plan on holding until spring.

But my experience is much different than yours because I've been on old and new AP's for decades. One thing I learned was to stop yo-yoing the dose around. During the worst phase of insomnia, I was trying to "guess" how much I needed to sleep and probably 90% of the time I was wrong. You can't predict windows and waves.

I believe I dropped from 100 to 75 and down to 50 last year, but I can't remember the specifics. I was still on Klono at the time.

Are you cutting from 25 mg pills?
