6 months out, a mixed bag of sx's

I no longer have really clear windows, but overall I'm not doing too bad except for one thing......stinking muscle cramps! :tickedoff:  Now in my spine, where i had a fusion, two places, upper back and lower back.  Keep almost throwing my low back out and these horrid cramps are much worse than the muscle spasms I gpt occasionally before benzos.  It's like it's settled in and isn't going away.  It's gotten worse over the last couple months, and I can't do anything hardly because of it.

How long before this eases up?  sheesh!  If it gets worse I'll end up in bed.  I'm taking flexeril, and getting a half hour massage a week, nothing seems to faze these spinal/muscular cramps.

I still have akathesia, and occasional cramps in legs.  Nerve pain is really bad some days, other not so much.  I printed out a list of sx's from the Ashton manual so I could black out ones I never had, ones that were better, etc.  Most of my brain sx's are gone.  If not for physical ones, I would be healed right now.  I would like to have acupuncture done on spine but not one near me.

I was hoping my 6 months would be a big celebration, but not so much.

MG, most important thing is you are 6 months off this crap, which is a big achievement.

way to go....let the healing continue. :smitten:

Mg, we both have a history of lots of nasty joint issues, I'm about 7 months off and too notice nasty muscular issues where I've had low back surgery, and in my neck that was just fused too. I think we will get better, hang in there. Btw,flexiril way revved me up and quit helping the spasms after a week or so.

Jack over 30 yrs of spine pain they are the only muscle relaxer that ever helped me, and I tried them all.  They also help me sleep.  Only downside is they make me sweat and keep an extra 15lbs on.    I pray this spine stuff goes away, my spine feels like it will snap.  :o  I started stretching again yesterday, was a bit better this morning, but hurting again tonight after stretching.  Hope you are healing up well from neck fusion.  My neck is tight and spasms, but the L4-S1 is killer for me right now.

Hugs, MG :smitten:

Morreweg, you are right sis!  I was just in a lot of pain and flaring, probably from my pup dying.  It's such a downer to hit the big 6 months and be hurting so bad, was praying for a window.  It hasn't killed me yet and I've been through a whole lot the last 2 yrs, and am definitely doing better, things like I can actually eat, and my hair grew back!

Pray you are feeling better everyday, hugs :smitten:

I'm sorry MG, I didn't see this until now.  :-[  I'm so sorry you lost your best friend and beloved pet..  that was a lot of stress for you and anxiety, so no wonder it threw you into more intense suffering.  I pray you are feeling better as we're getting close to Christmas.  I guess it's gonna take as long as it's gonna take to heal from this poison.  I hope you have lots of distractions.  I started to crochet again after many years of not doing it.  I find it relaxes me.. that is when I'm not so bad and can concentrate.

Praying for you, and sorry I didn't see this till now..

Lily, you didn't miss it, I didn't post until this evening.  How I lost my fuzzy girl was traumatic.  The vet jabbed her over and over again, and her little leg was bleeding profusely, I was so traumatized  :'(  He said "this will be over quick" and just stopped her heart without giving her a relaxer first.  I didn't sleep that nite, it put me back into acute. :-\  When my boy was put to sleep last year the vet gave him a sleepy shot first.  I was so shocked by the lack of compassion.  When I feel better I'm going to write him a letter, it's still traumatic.  She was a puppy mill dog and deserved a peaceful death.  I wrote about it on the thread for other stuff, there's also pics of her there.  She was a little doll, breaks my heart.

Thx for your prayers & compassion, and back at you my sweet sister.  :smitten:

Mountaingirl, I am so sorry about your puppy.  So hard to deal with without Benzo W/D.  I wish you the strength to cope.

Also sorry for your back pain.  I hope it gets better soon.

That must have been horrible!  Vets need to give you a written protocol of the entire procedure so you can read it and ask questions.  It's good that you are sending a letter expressing your anguish over it all.  Perhaps then they will be more humane and compassionate to beloved pet and owner.  :-\

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss MG...

Lily, that's what my hubs said too, and I agree.  He should have been the one to hold her, she never lost fear, even us holding her she would stress.  Being blind and crippled made it worse.  My poor girl  :'(

Hi MG,

SO sorry to read about all that you're going through.

I thought about you on our 6month anniversary.

I made it to AZ to see my son graduate from grad school. One proud Mom ! ! !

Still have some issues, sure it's all withdrawal of one kind or another. Started a slow withdrawal from Paxil finally !

Hugs to you for having made it this far !    Compared to a year ago things are so much better.........RIGHT XX

Gray, lucky you in AZ!  I'm a westerner stuck in the east, lol.  So happy you are tapering off Paxil!  I can't wait to be done with clonidine, flexeril & hydroxine.  Had hoped to be off them already, but it will be soon!  Congrats to your son!  My stepdaughter just finished her Masters.   We will beat this!
