taper question

I was prescribed 0.25mg once per day of clonazepam. Been on it for 8 weeks and attempting to  taper off.  Some folks take it twice or three times  a day.  So am I suppose to continue taking just one dose per day when tapering or cut each dose in half and take it twice a day ?

If you have been OK on once-a-day dosing, I would not change.

 

IMO, the fewer variables we introduce to the taper process, the better.

I agree with builder. Some members dose once a day and others spread their doses and both seem to fare as well as each other. I would continue to dose in the way that you're used to, klonopin has quite a long half life so there shouldn't be a problem with interdose withdrawal symptoms (between dose withdrawals) I always dosed once a day and I continued this way when I was tapering.

I agree with the others.  If you have difficulty making it to your dose and the dose gives relief of symptoms then you probably want to split it, but if there is no problem I would not change just for the sake of it.

When tapering off klonopin does anyone know how long before We feel any symptoms from making a cut in dose ? I wish there was a way We could find out how quickly Our individual bodies eliminate the K.  I realize the half life varies from person to person. 

 

Do most people suffer from withdrawal  symptoms after having taken the last dose and if I make small enough cuts way down to the end would that decrease the chances of symptoms ? this is My first time and I know other folks have already been through this. Again I would imagine dose and lenght of time on the benzo would make a difference !
